I opened a new email address last night as I needed another 10 year old girl for a bait ([email protected]).
Emailed the lad, and the first of 4 spam emails arrived 5 minutes later.
Addressed to [email protected] with my very similar address in the bcc field.
I've created an address already on a spam list. Grr!

I thing gmail ignores the ".".... i.e. [email protected] is the same as [email protected]

You can actually use that to see who puts you on spam lists. If you sign up at a web site alter where the . is and see if that e-mail shows up in the to field and you know who sold you out.

Thanks. It's dictionary spam. One of them has a huge list of names starting with "alis0n.".
Only 13 so far, all in Chinese looking characters. It's the first time it's happened with my webmail addresses.

Are you guys backing each other as witneses (well to some extent that seems apparent to me) to uderground activity to help route out evil crud and spoted dangers or am I just imagining I found a very useful insight on 419eater?

I just learned a new gmail tactic too.... if your e-mail is [email protected] you can used [email protected] and the e-mail will get to you. So if you sign up for a web site called 419eater.com and you are worried they will sell your e-mail you can put +419eater.com after your name and any e-mail with that you know where they got your e-mail addy. Then you can also filter for it and send it to trash or whatever.

Very useful.
