As the subject line suggests, this is my first one. I may make mistakes, but I'm going to have fun with it. Here's the first letter:

the beneficiary to the inheritance since there is no written will. Our
legal services aim to provide our private clients with a complete
service.

We are happy to prepare wills, set-up and administer
Trusts, carry out the administration of estates and prepare and
administer powers of attorney. All the papers will be processed in your
acceptance.In your acceptance of this deal, we request that you kindly
forward to us your letter of acceptance; your current telephone and fax
numbers and a forwarding address to enable us file necessary documents
at our high court probate division for the release of this sum of money.

Okay, now he states here that I have the last name of someone that has passed away, so therefore, I'm a distant relative and yet, won't tell me this person's name, yet I am the beneficiary. And note also: this is the first letter received. (name
now withheld since this is our second letter to you) We contacted you

Apparently, this is my deceased possible family member. I'm wondering where to go from here.
I was thinking I'd write back and say that I actually knew him, or he looked like my father... or gay lover. I don't know. Haven't really come up with any great ideas. Suggestions?

the pic is not the NOK it is meant to be Chr1s M4rt1ns

( it is common on here to mask names by replacing letters with numbers incase the scammer uses google on thier name so it does not lead back to this site )

Ahh.... duely noted about the replacing of letters. I did read that, believe it or not.

I figured it to be the next of kin as I asked him for a pic. Some of this stuff is really hard to decipher. Sad

Take it easy iamatree , the lad is still in his script fase and doesn't bother what you ask of him . Wait until he mentions a fee that you have to pay and that's the part where you ask o so many questions . Have you read Otterfan's straight bait tutorial in the eater U ? I can recommend it to you . With that tutorial as a guidance you should do just fine . Have fun !

It sounds like this is going on by email? I hope it is.

Personally, I sometimes use 'letter' instead of 'email'. As in "I'll write a letter to them about it tomorrow." I have absolutely no intention, in that case, of actually picking up a pen and paper, but I still use 'letter'.

The postal address at the top of the letter seems to be for the scammer, "Mr. M4rt1ns', not Iamatree.

Found it in my personal email box, created another one, and responded with a random response. In no way would I give out personal info. That I made sure of.

It's great seeing newer members making sure everyone is baiting safely. Very Happy

We all watch the fresh members around here, Imatree. It's standard procedure. NOK baits move slowly in the beginning. You just keep acting like a real victim, until the money is ready to be sent, like the vampire said. Make sure they have spent a lot of time with you, and are invested heavily before you try anything funny with them. They need to trust that you will pay up. Don't get stuck on the script that you want to feed them. Every lad is different in smarts and experience, so stay open for different "modalities" of your own to run him through. Have fun, read around for ideas, and ask for advice if you need to. Very Happy

well im new here and as im not doing any baiting but just getting a load of laffs from others on here so I am trying to do a little to help with the usual simpler advice to other newbies like;
read the stickies
bait safe
get a mentor
join the 'U'
and anything else I can.
I think I owe you lot that much for the entertainment here Wink

Why not grab your first lad, and give baiting a try? You can spend as little or as much time as you want to. There are loads of lads, and you know enough to get started. How about insulting a bunch of lottolads just for jollies? I have to do that every two weeks or so, to get my death threat fix. It's a quick and painless (for me at least) blast!! Laughing
