I don't know if it's real or not, but I wouldn't be surprised if it were. It's been three years, and some people don't have that long a memory - especially in the advertising business.

looks like a photo chop to me.
its not in good taste really for the poster
to be displayed on that underground station

Photochop. It's a little too crisp, clean and smooth for a poster (especially on the Tube) and the top left corner is wonky. Plus that weird bar code sticker thing on the wall above it.

looking at it again
they are two different posters.
the top one is a genuine tube advert
but the bottom is defo a chopped as there is
no metal framed border around the poster just tiles- not
the usual london underground scenario.

someone is taking the micheal i am afraid

Nanny - The poster on the wall is a different design to the one in your link. The actors heads appear between their names in the "real" poster and they are standing beneath their names in Donato's. Might not make a difference because some posters change depending on what they are used for, but it still looks way too pristine for a wall in a dusty Tube station. I still say fake.

Movie posters differ according to the shape and size of the poster. A "portrait" layout is going to be quite different from a "landscape" layout, and even more different from the long landscape version that goes on the side of a bus. Smile

The story is getting round, quite a few web sites mention it. It may well be real.

It's not the first time insensitive posters have been placed in inappropriate positions. There was one for the film about the Underground driver who had run over 2 people so far and would get a big payout if he hit a third. One of the posters was placed on Ashford station in Kent, right next to where the cab of the trains would stop so the drivers' could see it.

There was definitely such a poster very near Stockwell tube station as I saw it myself. Can't say whether the one on the platform is real or photoshopped - I first saw it on Popbitch so I wouldn't be surprised if there are some shenanigans involved with this particular image. However there is an article in the Sun which seems to corroborate it more directly than the guardian article linked above:

Many tube stations do have posters affixed to tiled walls rather than in frames, and the weird bar code thing could have been just another graffiti type sticker (or a sticker from a product that some litterbug put on the wall).
