My real bank is trying to scam me!

I've not done much baiting for a while, but I thought I'd start up again.

I suppose it was inevitable that at some point I'd get a scammer posing as my own bank. but it still came as a funny surprise.

I suppose I could ask Mr. Staunton that while he is at trying to rid me of $4500 that his institution could stop sending me so much f***ing junk mail.

Strangely enough, the mail originated in Nigeria...what a bank...branches everywhere.

^^^^ Ah but which Bank of Scotland - the Royal one or the Halifax one?

I work for one of them and I once had a bait where I was dealing someone not only in the same organisation but whose address was three floors above my office. Although oddly the IP addresses show that he was posting his emails from Ghana Rolling Eyes

As the Scottish banks mint their own bank notes, maybe he could prove he is who he is by sending scans of BoS dollar banknotes :-$

I like the ideas with the names ( soon it will be the Lloyds-TSB-Halifax-Bank of Scotland...what a mouthful). Also the fact that Scottish notes aren't accepted in a lot of places might call for some amusement, but I doubt he would give a toss about that. After all, I would be educating him.
I'll have to argue that Scottish Sterling is more valuable than English Sterling.

^^^^ That's a good one to use becuase he will have to clarify if his demands for fees are in Scottish Pounds or English Pounds. Here are some scottish pounds...

As he's a Scottish bank you assumed the payment was in Scottish Pounds (ISO code "SCP") and the exchange rate is 100:1 ... so that bank note is worth 1 English Pound and have sent the appropriate amount in English Pounds via Western Onion Smile
