A hand gun with a scope? Or a laser? Seems a scope to me. I like guns as tools, simple, well made (the good ones) and effective, but I'm not going nuts about it.
Edit: for got to share
Favorite for gophers during the summer, CZ 452ZKM 22lr, 25" barrel deadly for gophers till about 150 yards if the wind is not too strong, else a 38 grain pellet has no chance at such a distance. No pictures of mine handy and a Bushnell scope mounted |

why have a scope on a handgun?
when they are for close quarter contact and distance
was never the object of them
scopes are for rifles in my shooting experience.
nice pistol i must say.
i wish i was allowed one
may i ask why the term 'nut' is used with gun.
that doesnt really put firearm users in a good light. |

~ remmy223,
First and foremost the scope is because I am going to use it for deer hunting and the iron sights don't adjust worth a shit. Second I guess collector is a better term than nut. it is a term given to me by some of my more Liberal friends in the Midwest. |

The precision of a scope on a inaccurate weapon is lost money for me, the drum and the short barrel make for a perfect variation with every shot, no matter how precise the aiming is. I feel sorry for the deer now, but then you got 5 chances if it will stand still, where we only have/need one. Gun nut alright.
Just picking on you as I can't see the use of the scope, never shot a hand gun with scope, but my training CO2 gun and that was just to check how far off I was, not for aiming.
We use riffles for deer hunting too, but I only allow bow hunters on our land as they have to be close enough to have a chance and can then see the difference between a deer and a horse and that's cheaper for us in the long run. |

A .454 for deer hunting?
Is there anything salvageable left afterwards? I find .22 rifle usually gets the job done. |

I am not a good tracker and would prefer if the deer didn't run far. Whats left is as always jerky. |

I have no clue where you live, but we can't use anything smaller than a .223 out here... |

Used to shoot them in Virginia when I was a kid on private property so the game warden didn't know or care. Nowadays, I'd say it has been close to 10 years since I killed anything with a gun although a lot of paper targers and soda cans have suffered. |

.22 or .223 on deer isnt exactly humane IMHO
as for pistols for deer, well thats another new one for me too.
my preference is the .308 and still sometimes they can run after an engine room
shot.
everyone to their own i suppose. |

We dont all have 3 guns each here in Aust but i have a mate with a rather large farm. We often spend an evening blowing roo's away.
also did a few culls down south. felt like the closest thing to a front line.
get them moving through the bush with vehicles and horseback toward a fence. shooters lined up 30mt apart along the fenceline waiting for the roo charge. then whala targets galore.
We are the only country who kills and eat both animals on their coat of arms |

Right now my armory is down. Still own my first two from the dad in high school back at the parents place while I go to college:
Single Shot bolt action 22 Savage
Bolt Action 22 Magnum
I also have a Remington Model 870 Express 12 gauge. Good gun. Was thinking about getting a hand gun, thought about a 9mm, but am still arguing with the family military ethics of side arm etiquette (make sure the caliber begins with a 4). So I'm looking at a glock or colt probably. Still looking though. |

I have heard that term used a lot. Might be Yank thing. Means gun enthusiast
I have a few handguns to speak of including a Glock 21, 22, 23C, an HK USP 9mm, HK USP .45, 2 S&W 9mms (one being a Lady Smith for wifey) and a Springfield 1911 .45. I also have a few pocket 380s but nothing worth mentioning.
Only one rifle which is an AR 15
I don't really feel like breaking out with all these just to take a picture
Oh and I'm not a gun nut.
Been thinking about buying a FN or 57 gun before they are banned in Ca as well.

.40 Caliber is best IMO. In a Glock 22 you have 15 + 1 capacity. I still like my Glock 21 though. The 22 belongs to my wife but you, know what's her's is mine if I ask real nice.
Both of the big Glocks are equipped with a lasermax and light mounts which are nice. |

Guns are cool. I have a .45 for concealed carry. Nothing wrong with other calibers. That's just the one that works best for me.
I also like Mossberg 12-gauges for clay pigeons. Suck at it, but it's fun. |

Wanted to add I have never been hunting and wouldn't ever care to go. I would feel way to bad. I gave up eating meat for about 3 years after watching that faces of death video. Of course that when I was young and silly.
Edit: Oops I forgot about the little Sig 239 that I keep in my car |

Oh, yeah - I don't hunt either. I eat lots of meat, but it's mostly pork and beef. Can't raise either of them to slaughter for myself right now, so I'll just keep buying it at the grocery store like most of the rest of us do. |
