Sad day - for a number of reasons - not the least of which is the loss of wonderful musician. Wright was a co-founder of the Pink Floyd - one of the seminal groups of all time.
In addition to great songs with Floyd such as "Us and Them", he recorded some excellent albums such as "Wet Dreams".
It's all beginning to come to an end.

'Dark Side of the Moon' was one of those albums that every student had in their collection, along with Simon and Garfunkel's 'Bridge Over Troubled Water' and Carol King's 'Tapestry.' |

When I was a student , they got everyone to try and play 'Dark Side of the Moon' at once, with the windows open, in the halls of residence.

And Tubular Bells (Mike Oldfield) and Rumors (Fleetwood Mac)
I still think Meddle is the best Floyd album. Richard Wright carries the B side more or less. RIP |

I was in the field back in Nov of '05 when Syd passed. I didn't find out 'till the day before Christmas.

I saw the Dark Side tour BEFORE the album was released in Montreal in an open air ball stadium. A really cute French Canadian darling gave me a rather strange shaped pill in exchange for a herbal product I had grown that season. I do remember lying on the grass when they fired off the rocket from one end of the stadium to the other but that's about it. Although I think I discovered the secret of the universe that night 
And Sinead O'Connor's version of Mother in the Berlin concert is one of the best things she has ever done - so there !

I have a 13 year old son and we have been reviewing the history of rock for the past several weeks. Him, being in the "YouTube" generation, needs the videos to go with the music. This evenings lesson has been all about Pink Floyd, we had a great time.
