To get the photo I had to open up a new addie as Shorty has a paranoid fear of his photo falling into the hands of Mr G0mer who he believes is a hacker. I can't think how he got that idea.

I was just about to mention that the account I set up is named luddy4bruce, as I thought that was hilarious, when I noticed I had another mail in from him - and this is yet another unexpected bonus. Don't praise me - this is all the work of Shorty's mind - what there is of it.

You might think this is just Lad lies but it makes sense I suppose, knowing that you pay for everything in Nigeria, but this is going to put Shorty in a desperate situation.

I know he's short of cash and, if he is to be believed, his car got trashed and/or sold and his laptop got sold or something (I can't always make out his mumbling and I'm usually trying to improvise/lie during his telephone calls). The police will think he's stiffed them, and even if he had the money which he doesn't, they'll be extremely embarrassed.

I have no alternative but to be in on Wednesday to phone him otherwise this is all going to be unbelievable - but knowing Shorty he'll want me to speak to the police. :yikes:

I think I'm going to be in a much safer situation than Shorty - and anyway, isn't it just the greed of these people running after money that doesn't exist, that makes it their fault ? - whether it be Shorty, or the Police who appear to require a back hander to do their jobs.

I'm sure that the French authorities will look favourably upon any extradition requests, but I'll be safe back in Sverdlovsk.

According to independent reports, he is on the run from police and facing four years jail for his earlier exploits. How he can also be arranging a police raid is perhaps one of the peculiarities of the Nigerian legal system. I'm sure that the promised payment of $1,500 may have something to do with it, and in Shorty's mind, laying his hands on my hotel security box will be the answer to all his troubles and problems. - OHHHH WHOOOOPS - Houston I foresee one small problem.

For all the misery and pain that scammers bring into victims lives, all over the world, it often appears that there is so little that we can do to make them endure the same suffering. We only witness the joy and glee they have at extracting money from many people who barely have enough money to feed themselves.

Quite a few baiters have made Lads suffer the hardship they deserve, and I am happy to join them. I didn't do it by scamming, I just made him fall into the trap he lay for innocent victims.

The evidence is about as conclusive as you can get. Other baiters have been working their Lads and have obtained a copy of the original police report, but I would hate Shorty to be able to come here and prove he was set up all along.

The Mods have seen it, and though I have not asked them to verify it, I'm sure they'll tell me if I'm in dreamland.

I admit that this is quite bizarre and without any confirmation I'd hesitate to post what's happened. There is possibly another baiter who may be able to confirm some details, but they have troubles due to hurricane Ike.

I'll speak to Shorty tomorrow on the phone and you can judge for yourself, but I don't know how long I can keep up the pretence though, even if I can't, the sound of the awful truth dawning on him should make it pretty clear that he is facing the abyss.

I won't burn him - he'll still be looking for his Russian model living in Paris who came to visit Crying or Very sad

even as the cell door clangs shut.

I've left Shorty stewing for the last couple of days, as he's done what I need him to do to get himself deep in the mire.

No reply or word from shorty, but that is usually ominous for good reasons, meaning he is doing something insane, though I would have thought that he would want my (Ludmi||a's) reassurance.

I've missed a doctor's appointment to man the phone, so he better not let me down now - or I may have to kill him. Twisted Evil

A kind offer Jayhawk, but if this is true, a quick death is going to be much nicer than what he faces at the moment.

I can only think that they see Shorty as a way to make some quick money, and may be prepared to put on some sort of show, and then they can get their bribe and further money for wasting their time.

I find it hard to believe that the police or army would take him seriously but they may humour him if there's money to be made.

Got a short follow up mail saying I should call him anytime. I don't mind that, apart from the interrogation about rooms and if I can see anything from the windows.

I better ring him tonight as I'll be out tomorrow, and I need to keep his interest mounting. Maybe a little wooing and love talk would ignite his passion. Very Happy

Whatever he has set-up (for real or only in his mind) it would be great if he would get himself in real trouble with his local police or army-force... (any chance of third party confirmation on what will happen friday?)

In this part of the world you'll even get internet-access when you're in jail, but I guess that doesn't go for Nigerian inmates so that would bring his scamming to a complete stop...

I can only get confirmation - if and when any raid takes place.

The one baiter who might be able to get get some independent corroboration is away due to problems caused by a hurricane.

However, I would hope that Shorty would want me to be on the phone when it goes ahead, which is why I stayed in today.
That might provide some idea as to what's happening.

I don't want this to drag on so I think I'll tell him they plan to move me back to Cotonou on Monday to find my box. That'll bring the matter to a conclusion one way or another.

I tried searching what C.I.O.M.P. may be but didn't get much from Google.

I haven't rung him, as Ludmi||a prefers action to talk, and I'll fold this bait up if he doesn't do anything by Monday. I'll set him the deadline during the week and have her whisked away to Cotonou without some action.

The only worry is that he could have received one of my e-mails requesting more candidates, into another e-mail box he, or one of his pals, is using.

If so, no matter, I'll get some fresh meat to handle and bait him again later under another identity.
