Please excuse me starting a new thread, but its been years since i was involved in baiting and i can see the baits are coming along very nicely indeed.
I am a writer who is working on a script about the lads, i have had a few things broadcast on Radio 4 in the UK, but nothing on TV.
Anyway
I have been spending the last fews hours laughing so hard I've coughed up a lung, but no matter.
My question is, what are your all time favourite baits folks? Just to get me in the mood
I'm especially interested in ones involving either the lad coming over to the UK on Safari or baits involving UK scammers, i can remember a few along the lines of the PPPPPPowerbook from 5 years ago, or so.
Video footage is especially welcome
sanuk!

From November 2002
This one, involving months of fictitious boat travel aboard the SS Lucky Lad with the amiable Capt Stabbin, the irascible Lonslo Tossov and the poor Lad, Jonathan Mokoena, chasing them round various African ports.
It's quite long. |

The village people one gets my vote too.
Also, I enjoyed the stunt-lads too... Can't remember who baited them though. |

^^That one was great, I agree.
Another hilarious bait that I followed closely was, "Crusade To A Fetish Village," by Scam Patroller. Brother Donald the scammer was a real gem.
A "must" read.

I would nominate Roy Cropper's safari involving the hunt for James Bond's original Aston Marin DB5 lost in deepest Africa, involving the cast of Coronation St and certain members of the Royal Family that I am duty bound not to name.
There was also one where a baiter baited as a fervent Irish Republican whose mails were highly abusive, containing the word 'feckin' every other word and involved a psychopathic detestation of all things Protestant.
The Lad just walked through the blaze of comic bigotry like a hero answering all the abuse as if it were all quite normal, whilst imploring him to believe that he wasn't a Protestant sympathiser.
The place is a comic goldmine, so it's hard to raise one above another. |

Just looked it up; incredibly, the recently most famous one hasn´t been listed, the "Music to my Ears" one (Nigeria - Chad), which introduced a new piece of vocabulary to the world ("streaded"), and 128 thread pages can´t be wrong either
Also very famous has been the "Third Anniversiary Safari".
I´d say reading both of them would need you to take the rest of the week off
"Music to my Ears" has been the possible number one thread on page 1 of Main for most parts of this spring and summer, so you´d definitely have to consider this one. |

Music to My Ears kept me coming back, but Dumber than Dumberer made me register so I could comment. That one, however, is rather sensitive right now, I believe.
Anything of RoyCropper's with the idiot Lotto Lad Dan - and there are a lot of them. Dan just keeps popping back up for another go-round. |

I've been reading for about 2 years, some of my favorites include:
3dward $mith's overseas adventure, truly epic with lots of audio, pictures, and a cast of probably 20 baiters involved. Listening to him shout at Double-O in Igbo was probably one of the funniest damn things I ever heard from here. Ed was so livid... beyond words, really.
The ARK/Dan D@nino lad wedding was great. ARK took pity and bought poor Dan a souvenier Tshirt for the pictures. There is still debate about whether they played it straight with each other or acknowledged each other as guymen.
Red's ongoing Jewel heist bait. The commitment from the lad, and the complete life change a bait like this brings about is amazing.
Anything with Kevin Will Tony. ...such a desperate lad, he wanted to believe everything so badly, for so long. And talk about a burn at the end...
I so wanted Roy's Austin-Martin heist to reach it's full conclusion. I still hope the mods will consider blocking at least a few small source subnets when things are getting good and so much has been invested. Roy's aristocrat character, expelled for shooting natives, was a treat. I assume Roy and Red are both Brits and I really buy into their dry deadpan sarcastic brand of humor.
There are many others but these were some of the lengthiest and funniest ones I could think of off the top of my head. YW and company deserve a lot of credit, too. The imagination and effort behind making TWAT seem legit and credible is amazing, and has left everyone with some true comedy gold.
Also a big honorable mention to SP's YMCA thread. Video of lads in costume, with bad choreography... you can't make shit like this up. |

^^YW, did you do one with a trunk box floating around Namibia and drifting North?
Classic out-of-the-box thinking (pardon the pun) with a novel use of a satellite-tracking website. Road to the Skeleton Coast?
EDIT - yep, it is. (see the links above) |

There have been so many absolutely tremendous baits by the Eater community that its damn near impossible to say which was best, funniest or most outstanding.....
But the one safari bait that really opened my eyes was YW's - Road to the Skeleton Coast.
Reading that bait I was utterly amazed at the level of professionalism by the baiter.
Not only a fiendish plot, but the use of satellite telephones and phoney websites created solely for the purpose of getting a lad on safari.
I had never seen anything like it before, this was in an entirely different league, and I knew then that I wanted to try safari baits trying to emulate YW.
