Cheese thread.

Newer members may be confused, so I will try to clarify. A cheese thread is usually about cheese. We post pictures of cheese, pay homage to a specific cheese that we particularly like, or some grumpy members spout off because I have started yet "another cheese thread". To mix it up I shall devote this cheese thread to posting a picture of members pets, a pet thread under the guise of a cheese thread, clever, no?

I usually get moderator approval and endorsement for such a thread, they usually have a soft spot for cheese, and pets.

Here is my faithful dog Scout, named after the character in the Harper Lee novel.

I had a cat that loved blue vein, any brand, so long as it was blue vein, she'd go mental trying to get to it if I had any out, then be a real pest trying to get on the table to get to the cheese and crackers.

And there's nothing like a 4 egg omelette with grated/crumbled blue vein browned on top.

Tasted some lovely cheeses up in Orkney

So we're away to daughters pals today, thinking Leerdammer, and lo and behold she's got a gorgeous pet rat.

Oh she also had 3 guinea pigs
Daughter had a bunny which our stupid cat is scared of.

For the record I'm not fond of Yorkies

White Dragon - not really controversial. I had a cat. Actually, over the years I've had quite a few cats. The last one (enshrined in my username) died three years ago at age 17. I am waiting to get another until I live in a larger place, with more room for a cat to keep its tail out from under my wheels. (We had a few accidents.)

Now, I love cheese - almost any kind. Edam, however, is too bland. My roommate would probably like it - she prefers Mozzarella because there is no taste to it. My preference is sharp cheeses. My grandfather liked his cheese so sharp it cut itself, but he had destroyed most of his taste buds by smoking cigars.

its all processed cheese slices for burgers

Soy cheese is -- disgusting. I like soy milk, but the soy cheese I've been able to find is a poor substitute for the real thing.

I was making a toasted-cheese (note, not grilled, toasted) sandwich one day, and I was hit with a sudden stab of phantom pain (an oxymoron, IMO) just as I took the toast with nicely-melted soy cheese out of the toaster-oven. The toast landed, cheese side down, of course, on my sweater. I don't have that sweater anymore Crying or Very sad

Can I add that a pet peeve of mine is alot of the sliced cheese that you buy is not cheese, but "cheese food", whatever the hell that is. And yes, it does taste like poop.

I f'n hate "cheese food."

My fave cheese is that sliced kraft cheese that comes individually wrapped and ready to go on a burger. All this stuff called "swiss", "gouda" and the like just confuses me and is not really cheese.
