Hmm, so I've been watching this show for a few months now, seeing various episodes of it on youtube. And I have to say its' fairly good. For those who don't know what it is, it's a reality tv show related to scamming. The three main characters go around scamming random people on hidden camera (giving their stuff back afterwards obviously), to demonstrate how scams work.

Sort of different stuff than 419s, but there might be some cross-interest, since it's still based upon deception (though the characters on that show are pure genius whereas 419ers tend to be pure ... idiots). So anyone else watch it at all?

I did when it aired in my locality. For some reason it disappeared. The focus of the show isn't 419 scams but everyday street crime. Great show. Very Happy

I got the impression that reality TV consisted of locking a dozen foul-mouthed morons in a house for a period of time and throwing them out when they became too nauseous even for each other..... Confused

Actually I remember that show. They did pull off some amazing scam jobs with very little ease.

Search for "The Real Hustle" on Youtube and see lots of examples. Particularly check out the "Black Money Scam" clip and look at all those trusting faces.... Sad

They are total professionals - Ive watched about 7 shows and cant believe the outright audacity of some of their scams.

Yes, there was a discussion about "The Real Hustle" in another thread, which has since been deleted. Since that was partly due to your manner of posting in it, TBC, I am surprised you're making gleeful references to it. As it has been deleted, the thread and references to it are of no practical use, so I suggest we get back on topic.

The programme is an eye-opener and worth watching for an insight into how easy it is to con people if you have a mind to. The black money con is a good example, but the guys doing this are pretty adept at a whole range of scams.

I watched the first series and loved it. I have always been fascinated by con artistry, so it was incredibly interesting to see it. If I can find the rest of the series aired thus far I would certainly watch them.

I'm not always sure that they are pulling off all the scams.

One i saw used the type of cash machine where you put your card in, take it out and then proceed with the transaction. They put in a skimmer fascia which would only work on the regular type cash machines and didn't show a close up of any of it. Just the people going up and leaving again with money in their hand.

I'm sure a lot of the scams they pull off are done for real, but i don't think all of them are.
