I just found you guys and I must say I have total respect for the hard work you put in you are all amazing.

I have met a few mugus in my time on dating sites, although I had cottoned on to them immediately, my lack of experience let them slip through my hands.
I have learned so much from your site and as I am not going to meet a guy on these dating sites I think I may as well get off my tuffin and have some fun.

Hi Mrs.M! Welcome. The number one rule is bait safe. Get yourself a new identity. Get a couple. It's easy. They're free.

You can still use the lads who wrote to you on the dating sites, just write them back from a new identity.

Great advice thank you. I have only put one identity up so far I am getting prettier and younger all the time, better not get too pretty I think.

Don't get too pretty. When the lads look at pictures at all they look for homely older women. Plain Janes.

Most do searches on dating sites and use the criteria of age, 40 and older, divorced or widowed, employed or has income. That's about it.

I wound up here cause I was matched with a scammer on eHarmony. I guess he only decided to pursue it 'cause I was a frumpy old bag. Se la vie!

Welcome to Eater, Mrs. M. I'm also a fairly new baiter. I'm just working on my first love bait and my first 419 bait (non-romance scammer).

The love lad I'm working with right now sent, in his first contact message, "I like your pic." Funny thing - I don't have a pic on that site! They don't really look for pics.

It is always nice to have another romance baiter join our ranks.

Some great advice for you for starters is to take a good look at our romance baiting sticky, it has some very usefull information about safe baiting that I really do insist you take a look at.

Even if you dont drink Martinis it is still a good idea, we wouldn't want the future Mr Mc Muffin to find you here

All too often we see noobs join up and use the same username as other general interest sites where you may have posted a lot more information about yourself, one noob recently left a trail right to his front door as well as details of family members so if you have done this PM a mod right now and ask for your username to be changed, they will happily do this for you

There are things you need to be aware of before you even think about baiting a scammer. First up, as much as you may want to get back at the person that scammed you, the last thing you should do is continue from the address they're already in contact with. Drop them like a stone. Go to 419eater.com and post up their address and let them deal with it. If you want to bait them, or if you just want to have a go with someone else (and we don't really recommend it. It's much better to leave it to the people that know what they're doing), then get yourself a fresh new email address. There are free email providers that will hide your IP address, Google for them. If you don't know how to Google then walk away, you'll only put yourself at risk.

When the scammer asks for a picture, there are many ways to avoid sending one at all, tell them you dont have one, you dont know how to or some other excuse, it is also a good idea to send large files which will waste their time to download, any file at all can be renamed JPG alowing large DLL files to be sent often leading to your scammer ghiving up on asking. Telling your scammer that you have sent a photo and asking what they thought of it may stop them asking as well. If you must send a photo, don't send them your own, think of a minor celebrity and Google yourself some natural looking pictures of them.

What about a phone number? K7.net is a good place to get a free anonymous number. Skype is good too. An anonymous SIM card is a great help too, plus it costs the scammer more to phone.

There are many places on this site where you will find more information on safe baiting and you should search or ask for more information if you are unsure.

If you do need to PM a mod, go to the forum.419eater.com Forum Index (yes, click this blue section) scroll to the bottom of the page and find a mod on duty, they have their usernames in green.

Best of luck with your baiting and dont be affraid to ask if you need some help

Oh, one more small piece of advice, "google is your friend, but can also be your enemy"

To answer your question, some scammers do have very good english but be aware that your early emails are most likely just script, if you would like to post up a few I can most likely show you a few trademark scammer things that give it away, there is also a section on that in the sticky if I recall
