Hello All --
After several attempts, I have a scammer on the hook. It's one of these Nigerian guys who wants to purchase my advertised (Craigslist) item by having his shipper send a cashiers check that is more than the item's sale price, and then I send him the difference by Western Union.
Well, after several long chats on the internet, he has admitted to me that he is indeed a scammer, and I have him convinced that I want to work for him and receive a commission on all of the accounts I help with. My role will be to print bogus checks, mail them out, collect funds from the "clients" via Western Union, deduct my commission, and WU the remainder to him in Nigeria.
I also have him convinced to send me $400 for supplies -- printer, software, paper, etc. He is very eager to get started with me and says he will WU the funds today. I gave him my name and address, but I mis-spelled the name with a different first letter, but close enough that I thought I could still collect the WU. The address is also similar to my real address, but incorrect.
So, finally my questions to the experts -- Should I go through with this? Should I collect the money? Is there a way he could trace this collection back to me and send one of his boys to pay me a visit? After all, I will need to show my true ID at the store where I will collect the WU.
Any advice will be appreciated!

In fact, this forum doesn't encourage getting money from scammers.
Some mods or mature baiters shall probably give you advices about this.

I'm pretty new to the baiting scene myself, but what I do know is that baiting for cash is frowned upon. Other baiters have done this in the past but it is now discouraged on the board.

If I was you I would drop this one and let him collect his money back from the WU. He probably obtained it from scamming some old lady anyway ....

Hi and welcome.

Don't bait from anything like your real details, it would be particularly unwise to try and rip a lad off.

Which brings me to cashbaiting, when you read the stickies you'll see that it's a big no-no on eater.
