Our Camaro went to it's first car show today and got a trophy. Actually two, but the first one was just a random draw. The second one is 3rd place in the Camaro division and believe you me, we were beside ourselves. jump_4_joy

Lovey picked me up in this car on our first date in 1978. It has not been driven in 20 years and sat in the garage. We have worked on it for 4 years and I have to say that I helped with every inch.

It is a Camaro SS 396 straight drive with 67,000 miles on it.

I cried tears of joy at this event today.

The first place winner was a red with white stripe and it was cherry. Cool

They got away before I got a snap.

By the way, The back seats were in good shape and did not have to redo as no one was ever in the back seat, not even me. Wink

Damn girl 67,000 miles for a car that's almost 40 years old is great.

My first car was a 69 Camaro. It didn't look anything like yours though. It wasn't even a SS and I could barely keep it running but it wasn't bad for an 18 year old kid.

Oh and my back seat was used plenty Very Happy

Very nice indeed!I'm currently putting my high school car back together.1967 Dodge Coronet,had it for 31 years now.Sadly,it has not been inside.Lots of work ahead.Congrats on the Trophy,it is well deserved.

I drove it many years ago, but haven't gotten behind the wheel just yet as I'm afraid of it at this moment. Laughing

We knew we would have some problem and have a big one. Filled it up with gas on the way home last night. Open the garage door and the smell of gas will knock you down. Sad

Gas tank leaking and apparently only when full. Lovey said the heck with it, he is tired and it will go to someone else to fix. Big job and will cost lots of money. We knew there would be problems, but not so soon. Mad

Very nice car. I would have loved to have had your car during that time. I got a ride in one and the owner peeled the tires from stoplight to stoplight for a mile back in the day. Every cat in the neighborhood was up a tree for miles around. It really brings back memories.
I've been spending the last few days in Motor City and there's this restored hot rod exhibition going on for a week now. I've learned to hit the recycle button on the climate control when we pull up behind a classic car. They do not completely burn the gas that goes in them. I like your SS better than the Yenko. If it were not a rare high performance machine, anything with wheelie bars would be laughed at around here.

We know this guy and have watched him get trophies for years. We have said all along that he would be our competition. He tells that he has no more room for trophies, others tell him to sit aside and give someone else a chance. Not me, I want to win over him and it will happen, I tell ya! Wink

The couple that won first place were strangers and live in another city. I have to say they deserved it and told them so.

Lovey took half the gas out and we took her for a ride and no more leaking. Very Happy

Told Lovey to stop at convenient store and I ran in to pick up an item. Came out and there was a purdy young female pulled up beside him. I said hi and she was going on and on about the car. We left and I ask him who it was and he said, "I don't know!" Surprised

He has teased me to no end and he was smiling when he hit that pillow. Laughing

I said, "How the heck did you get me?" Laughing

Congrats corona. sweet ride. my mom & dad had a 68 rag top. they sold last year. as for the Pro street yenko, where I come from you see a car with a narrowed rear end and wheelie bars, you gave them the right away
thats why Im building a pro street truck. But I will alway give first nod to a nicly restored classic.

Fantastic job Corona, a very impressive car. We dont see anything like that here in the UK, only noisy little hatchbacks crammed with 6 or 7 youths, blaring out some sort of 'music' out with the windows down.

We call them "Chav's"

Its so sad.
