Yes, now we know the real reason the lads write in all caps.

An interesting point was made in another thread recently, that the caps lock key on some keyboards toggles between English and Arabic character sets, so sometimes the lads can ONLY TYPE IN CAPITALS(!)

I wonder if that also explains the lack of capitals when they're using an all-English keyboard. Having used an ALL CAPS keyboard, they might not know what the SHIFT key is for.

I know at least one lad (goes by the name of Joe Smile

) who uses lower case "L" instead of capital "I" - I know this because my adaptive software reads the text aloud, and I'm actually beginning to think "I" when I hear "L" .
