I just came across this little tool called <a href="http://www.recolored.com/">Recolored</a> which lets you color black&white photos so easily that even a person like me, who can't even draw a decent looking stick figure, can get pretty nice (subjectively speaking) results with it. Thought some of you might find it interesting too.

Below are some of the better results I've achieved after fooling around with it for a day. Originals also attached for comparison.

It's far from perfect. The colors get mixed up pretty easily and occasionally the work in progress screen can show some color while the final colorized result has altogether different one. Also very often you find that your recolored photo may look more like a painting than actual photo, which may be good or bad thing, depending on what you are trying to do with it.
At least on my computer it's also very unstable. Save your work often. Coloring those took less than twenty minutes each, but it's still annoying to lose your work because of a buggy software.

It was one of the easier ones. Basically I just colored the sky, the water and the shoreline with few long strokes. The rest took care of itself, because the picture is too dark for details (comparing to, for example, the last pictures.)
A dot of khaki here, little olive there and hey presto. That's what I like in this thingy: it's very easy to use. Just draw few lines here and there and click a button.
