I had a look to see if this had been addressed elsewhere on this site... couldn't find anything. Does anyone know about the actual modus operandi of Western Union? Is there a charge to send money or just one to receive it? And is there a minimum payment? My man in Lagos is expecting a cool grand from me on Thursday morning. What if just three pence turned up? Is this do-able? |

There is no charge to receive money only to send it and I think it is $10+ USD |

Don't actually send him any money.
1. it costs you money
2. It lines his pocket
3. worst of all, it establishes a paper trail to you.
You'll need some sort of confusion over payments or another modality to avoid payment. |

Thanks for your replies. Okay, it lines his pocket - probably by about a twentieth of what it cost him to get to the Western Union office.
Ah well, I'll have to invent a freak occurrence. I've already had a cracking idea, actually. Will post my second bait probably on the 18th or thereabouts. I tried to keep it fairly normal to start with, but it's grown just as insane as the last one now. I guess this is the way all my ones are gonna go. Heh |
