I found this scam site, It is for some online game they try to sell items in the game. Here is a convo I had with the support. Which I found is the support for a similar site.
Quote: |
ray:
you said you wonnt order, why should I waste time on this
me:
Ok let me start over
me:
Now, I asked you. What country is this company based out of.
me:
What country?
ray:
I wont tell,sorry
me:
Ok, Why can you not tell?
ray:
I let you know, you come not for order
me:
I want to buy gold
me:
But why should I trust a company that doesn't be upfront with me?
ray:
sorry,I am busy now, have some customers to deal with now
me:
I am a customer |
Complete scam. just try and go on and talk to this guy. He is supposed to be customer support.
Changed a missed user name to 'me'. TS |

Locked while I look.
This may be something as unscrupulous as buying items for EverQuest, only to get ripped off, but falls more in the realm of caveat emptor than advanced fee fraud, and isn't something that we would target.
I'll move it to General if you all want to discuss it, though. |

Registrar: XIN NET TECHNOLOGY CORPORATION
Status: ok
Dates: Created 22-oct-2007 Updated 22-oct-2007 Expires 22-oct-2008
DNS Servers: NS2.XINNETDNS.COM NS2.XINNET.CN
Note at the bottom of the page it says copyrighted 2006 to 2008. Said site has not been in existence since 2008. This looks promising. I'll edit this post if I come up with more.
Edit: As I recall from playing Runescape many years ago, Jagex does not like people making money off of their free web game... unless Jagex is the one making the money. Want to get it shut down? Report it to Jagex. |

full auto, the text may have been copyrighted in an earlier incarnation of the site or under another name. The copyright owner is said to be rs4sale Ltd and they appear to have other sites trading in Runescape gold, power levelling etc. I have not checked them, but they could have been up for longer. In any event, the mere fact that the copyright is 2006-08 doesn't make it dodgy. |

Other than quite a bit of guestbook spam (including spamming a guestbook for a charity that's helping out victims in Darfur), I don't bring up anything relevant so far. At least nothing that connects it with a bona fide scam. I've found no victims posting on any gaming forum anywhere, and without that, it's pretty damn hard to prove anything with these kinds of sites.
I do know someone who is admin of a fairly popular Everquest forum, though. I'll run the site by her and see what she says. In any case, she'd be able to warn members of her forum against that site if she thinks it's dodgy. |

^^^ So did I... running behind a proxy or two though.
Said site does like WUxfer and paypal as a method of payment.
http://www.gogo-rs.com/Runescape_Runs.aspx
Midway down you'll notice that you get a 10% discount for using WUxfer. I've also talked to someone at their site via their IM and he was trying to push for WU.
Also it appears that Jagex (the owners of the game that this site pertains to) does not like "real world trading":
http://www.runescape.com/kbase/view.ws?guid=rule_12_real_world_item_trading
If this site isn't ran by Jagex I'd say it goes against the real world trading policy. |

Could the "person" that is taking to your guys by live chat be a chat bot? Some chat bots carry on pretty realistic conversations. |

The WUXfer and Paypal as payment options in and of themselves prove nothing.
The best bet is to go through Jagex, since they don't approve of it.
I'd say just forward the link to Jagex along with a short explanation, and let them decide how to handle it. |

^^^ agreed there. Jagex does not look to kindly on people making profits via their free game that they invest their own money in.
@ Boppe: It does not appear to be a chat bot from the conversations I've had with it. |
