Last year, I started three baits around about the same time in September. They didn't really go anywhere after about 3-4 months and the lads simply stopped replying one by one between January and February.

Yesterday, however, I received three emails, each from the different characters from those baits. Two were the very first opening format, as if I had never been contacted before, and the third was a "You failed to get your money because blahblahlblah..."

At first, my thought was "Oh, it was the same lad/team that I was baiting back then. I'm not surprised they didn't lead anywhere exciting!"

But then I checked the IP addresses for each email, and the first was Nigeria, second Benin, third China. Now, unless this is some worldwide gang I was baiting, I'm puzzled at how this happened.

Any ideas? (The two opening formats were identical to the ones that I got last September---same details, same fake companies, same character names.)

Maybe the format was just circulating around anyway.
Or the original lads have sold it (unlikely, I guess...)
Or they are in 3 seperate cafes which use 3 seperate providers whose locations you´ve got.
Or one lad has a buddy in China now.
Or I´m having absolutely no idea at all Smile

The format is being recirculated, and sent to every email address that the lads can get their hands on. Since yours is out there, that's probably the reason.

Oh, maybe I worded it a bit too vaguely.

What I mean is..

Lad 1 contacts me in September with format 1.
As does lad 2 (with a different format, let's call it format 2).
And so does lad 3, different format (format 3).

Baits go on for 3-4 months, each taking their own strange path, but then they sort of drop off with not much excitement or progress made.

Then, yesterday, I'm contacted with format 1 by lad-character 1, with format 2 by lad-character 2, and with a continuation of format 3 by lad-character 3.

Now... if I assume these were, in fact, the same lad/team that I was baiting back in September onwards then I could understand that same lad/team trying to resurrect old victims that never got the payment stage. That would definitely account for the evidence I saw yesterday.

But the IPs show three different locations (Nigeria, Benin, China). What sort of a coincidence that three lads from different locations all tried to resurrect old victims on the same day with the exact same scams they originally tried on me?

When I looked in the account I was almost pleasantly surprised to see three very familiar names. One name would have been a joy to behold, as it would appear he still thinks I'm a victim. But THREE? It got my Paranoia Meter twitching quite a bit, that's all.
