A friend sent me software that can lock someone out of their yahoo account for 12 hours I have not used it yet as I am unsure if its legal and I need your opinion if it would be effective against the lads.The software works I tested on my baiter account.

No sorry its stored on my email server. I think its a custom made script. I have no links or info about it.

Entering the wrong password several times will also lock it out. Using software to do the same thing might be considered malicious.

Malicious would be illegal. Why risk it, if you can do it manually?

The question I would be asking myself is "What, if anything, is gained by locking someone out of their account for 12 hours?"

If I tried to access my account and found I had been locked out, the first thing I do on regaining access would be to change my password. If it happened a second time, I would consider my account to be attracting unwanted attention and dump everything important (if I hadn't already) into another account and move house as it were.

The software can run multiple emails and can run indefinitely. It would be a great way to piss off a few hundred lads. Evil or Very Mad

I don't understand why you would want to do this (not just to yourself). I guess if you thought it would keep them away from victims, I kind of understand. If you want to frustrate the lad, just ask questions... a lot... over and over... Twisted Evil

Lads have plenty of reserve email addresses, so this really would be no big deal. (See discussions on closing lad emails addresses.) Plus what our esteemed Mod said.

I guess you could create a modality where you lock the lad out and reply from a dolla chopper or Mr Gomer account with " I DEY HACK YOUR BOX AND TAKE YOUR MAGA. You could add it as a baiting tool. Confused

I see no real use for this. Not sure if it is illegal or not, but what is the point?

Callum hit the nail on the head. The lad will just move on. The smart ones have their victim information backed up to a second e-mail account.

well - as I see it, doing it by hand to one account for targetted ops against one lad is highly discriminatory and possibly effective.

using software to run against email accounts en masse amounts to hacking, in effect it's a DOS attack. We don't do hacking, see stickies for details Smile

I need something to be done to this one lad who is has been a constant source of annoyance to me. He runs an NOK scam and spoofs emails. I set my filters so that all his bounces are forwarded back to him but I think someone needs to send him the strong message that he is messing with the wrong crowd. Anything LEGAL would be much appreciated.

Seems to me that the solution would be to annoy him back.

Why not get him to leave you a mesage on your K7? Then in your next email, you might point out that he should speak to you in a normal tone of voice the next time he calls. Tell him that he sounds like a pervert when he talks.

^ That kind of software is illegal to use unless you are authorised by the person who's box it is being used on. All the reasons for not using it other than that have been covered.
