Compare notes? If I read a book, I , err, read id, I don't start writing!

If it's from 1850 it must be available on the net as a free e-book.

I've not read it but did a search on it.....and now am quite curious to read it. It is available online but for me, not quite the same as holding a book. Very Happy

The language is beautiful. Heavy reading at first. I have only found the first chapter in the net.
An interesting thing about reading a book this old (my copy 1897 print) is the things the you find. A finger print on one page a dog eared corner a bit of snot. It was given to my great grandfather in 1897 he gave to his grandson who did the same and passed it on to me.

How nice to have had it in your family for so long. Very Happy

There's something quite nice about reading a really old book. I often go searching for first editions at the local antique stores.
