I started out baiting someone who had puppies to give away. Just pay for shipping. Yeah, right.

And so over the course of time, I wound up talking to 3 people. There was a mule colleting money in boise, and two lads who didn't speak very good English. I know there were 2 because I would send email and get a reply, and then get another reply to the same email, worded differently.
There was no telling in advance whether you'd get lad1, lad2, or Lynda (the mule in Boise).

At any rate, to keep things interesting, I started up a second bait under a different alias with the same target. I knew Lynda was in Boise from bait 1, so I decided to locate bait 2 in Garden City, a town just a few miles away from Lynda in Boise. I figured it would be harder for Lynda to avoid contact with someone so close

Both baits decided to drop money orders off at Lynda's house. Neither one did, of course, since they are fictional, but they SAID they did. One of them said "there were some suspicious people loitering around the front yard" and after Lynda said neither money order arrived, we concluded they must have been stolen.

I had Lynda meet one of the baits at the Wal-mart where the money order was "purchased" but didnt' make the meeting due to a flat tire. She said she waited a half hour. Then she was supposed to meet at a motel, but that didn't pan out, so a second meeting at Wal-mart, but we failed to hook up again.

Meanwhile the other bait "discovered" a wal-mart Lost Money order claim form (I rigged up off something I found on the 'net, not real) and sent it to her with a k7.net fax return number. It included details of the lost money order, etc.

Now, along about this time, moderator sheboppe got involved, and had a talk with Lynda, explaining to her what was going on and that she should stop. And then we waited to see what would happen. Nothing happend, Lynda kept things going just like she had been. So I sent her the OTHER baiter's money-order claim form, and eventually got that one returned to me too.

Now here's the deal; both of the baiters are "waiting for Wal-mart's investigation" which takes from 24-48 hrs (I said) and then we are free to start up all over again. Or not.

What I'm wondering, and I've talked about this with redshoes my mentor, is how to treat Lynda. On one hand, she seems like an ITP, but on the other hand, I have to believe she knows what she is doing, and I'm tempted to treat her just like one of the lads as far as making life as inconvenient for her as possible.

On the one hand, I could just drop the whole thing.

OR.. well I was thinking that since Wal-mart now has two claim forms from different people's money orders, both signed by the same recipient, it could get somewhat complicated. They might decide to have an investigation There might be more trips to the wal-mart to discuss the lost money orders.

Lynda seems like she's in a place where she'll take orders from whoever is giving them, whether that's the scammer in Nigeria, or the bait.

I just can't decide what to do next.

Any ideas?

PS: Thanks for the link to the receipt maker, did the trick to validate the lost money orders!

Please PM the details of your baits to me. Lynda has told me that she is no longer in contact with the scammer (yeah right) and that she isn't working with or for him.

I really need those details, and any other information that you can provide. This lady knows exactly what she is doing. Me giving her a heads up was ignored even though she is trying to convince me that she has stopped being a mule.

After sheboppe talked with the mule again, it became apparent that she knows what she is doing and is NOT an ITP, so ..

I always ask them if they know of any good recipes that I can use when cooking their dogs. I also ask them approximately how many people I can feed at a meal with a dog the size of which they are selling. Twisted Evil

^^ That would be very counterproductive with this mule. She is not a lad that doesn't understand what some of what we say. She is in American, and she is in the USA.

I usually run US mules all over the place like you did with the WalMart meetings. Then they are scolded severely. I have had a few of them thank me and promise never to do it again.

With this one, yes. Please continue to forward to me her emails in your baits. I want to see if she really is beginning to understand what she is involved in or if she is just trying to play me.

Well, as luck would have it, the mule is going to have to fill out another form. This time she has to describe the merchandise, where it is, when it will ship,etc.

She's going to have to get very creative! It'll be an exercise for her for sure.

And since there are two lost money orders, she'll have to do it twice.
