For the life of me I can't find it, but somewhere The False Italian(?) mentions an ISP response to getting fake sites closed which is full of real life suggestions, as opposed to the heavy approach that can be taken.
It is fairly recent - 2 or 3 months say, and when I read it I remember thinking it was not where I expected it to be (in the fake bank stickies). If someone knows where it is I'd be grateful for a link.

It was an email from an ISP chap who suggested that heavying the hosts into closing down sites was both counter-productive and simply empty threats. He outlined how they saw things and suggested we should tread a little more lightly and with more tact when submitting kills to them.

I think it was TFI who posted it and I can't think why it would be removed, so it probably got subsumed onto another sticky.

6) Don't be obsessive. The customer service person you contact is going to need to consult a manager - there's no point in repeatedly emailing them while they do this.
