I have a scammer who wants me to drop a money order in the mailbox at a location (in Boise ID).

They have produced a drivers license with photo and address that matches.

Their grammar is so poor from time to time that I'm thinking I'm not dealing with a Boise resident, but is it possible that the license is real? And if I was to drop a money order in the mailbox, is the person living there going to get the funds, or what would happen?

(I'm not in Boise, so I'm not going to be able to actually check out the house or anything).

I'm just curious how this scam would play out if I did put a money order in the mailbox?

It's for some puppies that will be shipping from Florida to Seattle.

The person in Boise may well be real, but a mule being used by the scammer, i.e. an innocent third party through whom the funds are laundered. Please pass their details along with the relevant email from the lad with headers to me or any mod. We can make sure that the mule, if that is what they are, gets an appropriate warning message. Thanks. Smile

So is this how those "work from home" scams work? They recruit mules to take a portion of the dropped money and then they send the rest to the scammers?

What do people who are mules think is going to happen to them when people realize they're not getting the goods and they KNOW WHERE YOU LIVE?

Sometimes it is a work from home scam, yes. But it could equally be the victim of a love scam or some other type of scam who thinks she/he is doing a favour for a friend. Lads will tell any number of lies to try and put distance between themselves and the end victim. As I said, though, please send the info to me or any mod so we can sort it out, hopefully. Smile

Would I post that in this thread, or send it to you some other way?
