This was left over from my e-mail "bait" blitz the other night. I FINALLY got an answer from clarie smith @ yahoo .com about her "puppies". But it wasn't quite what I was expecting.

What did I get? This:

"Thanks for the intrest, i dont have puppy for sale..sorry for your Aiye."

Granted, the e-mail I sent to her was a cold e-mail, as I got her address from here on the forums, so a part of me isn't surprised. Still, would this one be worth trying to string along some? Wink

I would invest one more email to her. Something along the lines of: If you have no puppies for sale, why did you email me about them? If you don't have puppies, do you know anyone who does have puppies for sale? I really want an African puppy and I am willing to pay top dollar for a good one.

If you get another brush-off or no reply....move on

I got in touch with our dear Ms. Smith. Funny she would answer me while I was "having surgery" (ie, off to Disneyland with friends).

Her response, as follows:

very hard to tell without some further probing. She may actually sell puppies... it's not beyond belief.

I'm guessing she just has had a lot of blind emails. I along with many others sent her mails and she has responded to many. Just tell her as much info as you need to. Maybe start with "I'm from Podunk, New Jersey, I hope that isn't too far to ship the little puppy, is it?" The more you look like an actual victim the more she'll start to believe you.

she's been baited previously.

i had her for a week. sent her to the MG office a few times. i haven't heard anything from her for a few days.

if you get to the transfer portion of the game, she will ask money be sent to N1geria.

I had sent her a sob story about putting one of my babies to sleep a few weeks ago, and how I was looking for a new puppy for my remaining Yorkies. (Can't you just hear the violins playing in the background here?) Well this morning, there was a reply in my Inbox.

She only takes WU, no checks or MOs. Huh. Who'd have thought a legit breeder would work like that? /sarcasm

Oh yeah, she sent me pictures of her puppies, one of which I seriously doubt is even a Yorkie at all. Still, I'll pretend to fall for it.

EDIT: It looks like there's text across the two pics. Watermarks, maybe? I'll have to take a look.

Yes, probably a watermark, or they could be the rare red bearded breed, highly sought after.
