Lovey gave in to having our hardwood floors sanded and our walls done. jump_4_joy

We started moving out of our house last Wednesday. Everything moved away from the walls for the crew to come in and skin them. We only have enough furniture to live on in the middle of the floor and believe you me there is a lot of things that I can not find, plus we have worked our butts off getting this far. Shocked

These drapes were made ten years ago. Inside of the pleat is another print that has never been seen. They were suppose to balloon out and never did. I hate to give them up so I'm going to remodel them and show that hidden print. The first thing is having them cleaned and after that the sewing will begin. Here they are before I took them down and this is the two windows on the end of the room, there is another big one. Smile

After the walls are skinned and painted, we will have to get everything out ( closets too) Shocked

and move to bro-in-law ( yes, that one!) Very Happy

We had central heat and air put in 5 years ago. That left us with a hole in the hallway where there was the old floor furnace and it has to be filled in.

We made the mistake of getting carpets fitted in two of the three downstairs rooms on the same day.

That was ... fun.

Jenny Agutter played a 14 year-old in Railway Children when she was 18. The story goes that the film company thought that this would cause problems, so there was a clause in her contract that said she had to lie about her age and say she had been 16 for two years afterwards. The next year she made Walkabout and couldn't go to the premier because she was, contractually, too young to see herself naked.

Unfortunately for the story, Walkabout seems to have been released with a UK AA (14 and over) and a USA R (accompanying adult) rating. So much for legend.

lotta, we gutted out the bathroom (only have 1) 5 years ago and the kitchen 2 yrs. I feel for you also. Shocked

This TV compartment is the heaviest piece in the house, it is solid cherry and it will take four men to carry it in and out. This is the piece that scratched the floor. oh, there is also a marble top dresser in bedroom that is a monster. Shocked

Renovating is really really fun When it's finished.
Best of luck with it.
Due to several ex-wife issues. It took me 10 years to finish my house.
However it was a load of laughs and frustration along the way.

I put in 800 square feet of bamboo flooring in our family room last summer. We've not been able to fit two cars in the garage since.

The material is carbonized bamboo. The carbonization is just a heat treatment to darken it. Its rated harder than red oak and a renewable material because its a grass not a hardwood. The material was finished by the factory with a polyurethane that has not scratched yet.
This little section along the bar took me two days. If I ever do this again, I will undercut the stone and just lay the flooring underneath and not try to scribe the planks.

I was supposed to leave a 5 mm gap for expansion. I though it would look ugly so I went flush.

I will be without my PC ( in about 12 to 24 hours) for 1 to 1 1/2 weeks and I will miss all of you very, very much. Sad

Well, all my nooks and crannies are clean, all the incoming furniture is clean, all the shit is clean and half of it is not coming back in. Very Happy

I even cleaned the vacuum cleaner before bringing her in, I tell ya! Razz

Of all the things that has been done to this house, none has excited me more than this. Cool

I'm setting to making a deck in my front garden. I've just unloaded 50 concrete blocks and carried them 30 yards from the road. my arms are buggered and now it's raining so i can't lay concrete.
