I am sitting here answering scam e-mails, all the while laughing myself silly. I never thought baiting would be quite this easy! I've already gotten three responses to bait e-mails I sent out last night, and there's two more baits going out today to see if I can get more. Sheesh, shooting fish in a barrel comes readily to mind, as does "Hook...Line...Sinker".

I admit, there's a tiny part of me that feels evil for doing this. But then, I remember what these schmucks do to people (including some folks that I know personally!) and I feel like someone ought to stick it to them the way they stick it to the people they swindle. Revenge is best served cold and all that...

Still, who would have thought this would almost be fun? Twisted Evil

Keep up the good work! I know I'm only a small fry yet, but I have 4 lads on the hook, one of the them twice which makes for 5 concurrent baits! There's something poetically justful about this. Twisted Evil

Remember: go slow. Drag out the suspense.

Don't answer every lad each day. Make him wait a few days (then come up with a lame excuse why you waited).

Ask a single asinine question with each response to drag things out further.

If he wants 10 items of info from you, give them to him one at a time.

It's so funny how I get so many interested lads. Maybe it's the fact I pose as a wealthy successful businesswoman/heiress, so they figure I'm dumb enough to believe their stupid stories.

I think from here I'll give things a rest for a day or two, then answer everyone. My excuses may range from a business trip to see the latest style of Wood Duck decoys (one of my sham businesses is a Duck Decoy manufacturing company) or a trip back to the Netherlands to buy samples of new tulips to breed the ever-elusive striped tulip.

I'm new at this too, but one thing I always keep in mind is to never let them make you work. All the work has to be done on their side. If they ask you for things beyond the basic (fake) name, (fake) address and (safe) phone number, just ignore the request. Most times they'll let it go or if not, let them get in a snit asking for it over and over. Twisted Evil

One of them today had the nerve to send me a clicky boxy 'application' form from the bank. I sent it back to the 'barrister' telling him to fill it out. That's what I'm 'paying' him for. LOL

i had a good excuse for the phone number. I recycled the same one the scammer used for not giving me his at first. "I seem to have misplaced my phone number.."

You can just give one lame-brained excuse after another that slows down their process and in turn allows you to bring your backstory (if needed) into play. They are definitely not always needed, my longest ongoing is 2 months and it is simply a straight bait.

But have fun, welcome and don't worry about the evil feeling...that's the best part Twisted Evil
