Last I heard, the Stig was a test driver for the Arrows based in Milton Keynes, hence the reason he never takes the same line as the F1 drivers.

I think the joke is that The Stig is a celebrity but the driver is actually a relative nobody.

Did anyone catch 'Fat Stig' when they did the American program? Hillarious...
