Hi lgeorgio, welcome to 419eater!
I had a read through the thread that you linked to... unfortunately I didn't have time for all eleven pages, just the first two. 
It seems the guy you dealt with (were you the seller?) was certainly dodgy... I'm not entirely convinced he was your run of the mill scammer though. Or at least not the type that we deal with on a regular basis. For me, a lot of the classic signs just weren't there.
Did you ever deal with him by email? Did you find anything out about his IP address? I'm interested to know... |

Their thread is an excellent example of why Internet anonymity, especially when baiting, is a very good idea. The scammer's based in the United States. The forum members there have worked together to find obscene amounts of details about him. They even know exactly where he lives...among other things.
Fortunately, though, they're working with law enforcement. They're encouraging the people who are reading the thread to leave things to the authorities - which is good, because that will, if the LEOs drop the hammer on the criminal, make the case that much more solid.
Good reading, really, if you have time to go through 40-plus pages. But the condensed version works as well.  |
