Here are some attempts by me to take close up shots of flowers and bees today, in Eastbourne, I took these using the manual setting and set it to macro, which is what I think you are supposed to use for close shots? Some came out clearer than others as I was trying not to get stung, and had to take the shot and move quickly Smile

, there were loads of bees and one took a disliking to me, anyway, here they are, I think the best one is where the bee is in flight:

Not bad mate.... especially when escaping from bees! Laughing

I won't go any further as I tend to get into SLR levels of critique that don't help the compact user!

Good shots with a compact. Smile

Great pics, man. The third one from the top and the last one are my favorites. That thing takes damn good shots. Was this the b-day present camera?

I really like the third one. The slight blur in the background and the flower really sharp has a nice effect.

Those are good shots, do like the bees in flight. Here's a forum for you to check out SP, http://photo.net/ especially the critique forum where you post a photo and you can ask for ratings and reviews of your pic.

Yes mate, I'm pretty pleased with it, the photos should get better the more I use it and work out proper settings and stuff. I have just been having a play around with the camera to see how many photos it will take on 2 new batteries, because, I had a couple of Duracell alkaline batteries in it, and after about 16 photos the low battery warning came on.

Yesterday, I bought an Energizer charger and some Energizer 2500 mAh NiMH batteries for it, I fully charged them last night, and sat here today clicking the camera with it set to take 12 megapiexl photos with the flash on for each photo, it took 572 photos to fill the 1GB memory card, then it switched to the 64MB internal memory and continued up to 591 photos before that was also full, I cleared both memories and continued taking photos, the low battery icon first came on after 641 shots, then the low battery icon started flashing at 712 photos and the camera turned itself off, that is way more than I will ever use it for, didn't expect that much from the new batteries Cool
