Why not ask him to meet up with you both there ?

You can prove that you have a special close relationship with Mr G0mer (I can send you some uncirculated pics of him) and if you mention that you are taking him cash that will be an extra incentive for him to travel.

Why not tell him that you have asked Mr G0mer to meet you two hours after the plane lands and that you'll speak to him first if he'll come along.

Hi. My lad's emails appear to originate in Britain so I imagine he's over here somewhere. I'm playing it fairly carefully as he may be a matter of a couple of hours driving away.
