While doing some research for a bait, (I wanted to see the cost of travel in W.A.) I came across this website. It (apparently) is written by a chap who set out to explore many different countries at age 67. It was about 7 years ago, but an interesting read never the less.

This page is about his experience in Lagos (which he spells Legos). Quite an interesting read.

It's an interesting read, but he strikes me as the sort of man who really shouldn't travel to these sorts of places. He seems a little naive to be honest.
I've had far worse experiences in Afghanistan, but I must admit that some African cities can seem nearly as bad. One of the ways around corruption and red tape is to take a handful of single US dollars with you. A dollar or two can grease the wheels, get you to the front of queues, get you through immigration, get you a taxi when there are queues of hundreds etc. It's wrong, but a bit of paper American currency gets you a long way.

Interesting stuff anyway.
