Dozy lap top question

I know that Britain & the US use different voltages, so what bit of kit do I need to use my lap top over in the States?

Most modern laptops will handle the power difference quite well, in fact they should take it in their stride, they are designed these days to be universally useable.

To be sure, just check your power supply and make sure it has "110-240VAC 50-60 Hz" on it. If so, then all you need is a plug adaptor.
If it says anything else, get back to us.

, I've had a multinational one for ages. Cotswold camping does one that covers about 95% of the globe, it just has 3 units that are interchangeable to cover the vast amount of contingencies you'll ever face. I've used that one in some wierd places including China, Syria, Afghanistan, and Libya and it worked great. It cost about £8 I think.

To be honest, for the states you're as well off with one of the simple USA/UK adapters that you can buy in supermarkets on either side of the pond. Sainsburys sell them in the UK for about £4. Airport duty free shops tend to charge about double, so beware.
