A good friend of mine is a volunteer fireman and received a commendation certificate last week for his efforts in the attempt to save this man's life in the UK floods last year. He is extremely modest and has my utmost admiration. He features about 25 minutes in, receiving his bravery award.
This programme is probably available for UK members I think and only a day or so left to view..

Tommo, I'm afraid I couldn't view the story. However, the spirit and devotion of emergency services are qualities we should treasure.

i remember seeing that on the news that day.
very sad for someone to lose their life like that whilst the services tried
so hard in vain to save him.

I recall when that happened it was so awful I couldnt even bear to watch the coverage on the news.

I could not view it, but it does not matter. Firefighters are some of the bravest people around and we all know that. Congrats on having a guy like that as a good friend. |
