Don't you guys think it would be a good idea to get an irc channel; instant help with scambaiting, and stuff like that, get to talk more personally with members of the forum and such?


Set up an irc channel on any large network (efnet//lcirc//dalnet) and its free also...


What do you guys think?



If you don't know what MIRC is, its basically like a big MSN chatroom, but more.... civilized.

This has been discussed before and the answer was no, some members do chat in a skype chatroom, but it is not part of eater.

I tried to create one about 2-3 years ago and it never got off the ground. had 3-4 max at any time. and maybe 6-7 total people ever visited.

1) Very few people know how to use IRC.
2) This leads to security issues if someone doesn't understand the whole IRC abilities.
3) The eater management doesn't want the responsibility. Evidence by some issues with the skype chat.
4) Someone has to monitor it.
5) We have tried it before with limited to useless results.
6) Lester's reason.
7) We actually set up a chat ability here which has had no use. (premium users only) It is down now. I didn't notice when it was removed; which shows how much it was used. Smile
