Here's something curious,

I've had this profile (see the myfreepassion thread) on a , I think, dodgy russian dating site, myfreepassion dot com, for a short while now.

Just a few minutes ago, my poor hapless character got notification from antheaclub dot com about registration being complete. So I check the site out with the supplied password and username and there's my character, name, details, all except the dodgy pic I used.

Needless to say, I've never been to this site before,

Does this happen often?

A number of dating web sites like Anthea club fill their pages with the data you post on other sites and get your mail address when you contact one of their hooks. They get your contact details and sign you up to their site to increase traffic but also normally to set you up for their scammers.

Happened me a few times and I too got hooked in Anth ea club and it is full of scammers so a baiters paradice. Terrible lay out and loading times are the main turn off along with the annoying pop ups!!

Once the bait is over IMHO you should publish in an open forum or even when you have a few generic mass mails that cant identify your baiting persona -

Prevent the scammer making $$ from victims and that is a real victory, every single thank you from a victim your post alerts preventing a scammer making $$ should be considered a trophy too!!!

One such place is
http://www.romancescam.com

They have sections on Vlads and Lads

Any contact details or links I post are an open invitation to readers to jump on in and write to them

Thanks Skerrett,

I now I have 2 separate logins for the place!

You're right about the pathetic site design, worse than my free romance.
Luckily, as a Firefox user, popups aren't a worry Smile
