RyanAir has 0 tickets all the time. It's probably accurate.
They charge you lots of fees and for luggage and that sort of thing, though, so it's never *actually* free. |

Oh yes... welcome to Ryan Air... the ticket costs maybe 1 to 5p... then comes the taxes... check in fee... baggage fee... insurance (that is nearly impossible to remove)... paying by credit card? There is a fee for that too.
Don't get me wrong, it is still a good deal but they had a 10p return offer... sounds like 40p for a family of 4... it was about 230! If you don't have kids then you are laughing with these deals. |

A couple of years ago, two of us flew from Exeter to Glasgow (return) for 11. That included taxes.
Not all are loaded with hidden costs.
Mind you, the bastard flight got delayed for 8 hours because of mechanical problems. |

That must have been before the baggage, fuel surcharges, check in fees oh and that other 5 tax... also those airport taxes are more reasonable. Fly out of a London airport and you will know about. |

Hope you are not disabled
A party of blind and partially sighted people are demanding compensation from budget airline Ryanair after they were ejected from a flight.
The group of nine from Norwich were on board a plane bound for Italy when they were asked to get off.
Trip organiser Katherine Hurst said the stewardess told them they had too many disabled people on the flight.
A Ryanair spokesman said the incident was "unfortunate" but four disabled passengers per flight was its limit. |

And
Budget airline Ryanair's appeal against a court judgement which found it was unlawful to charge a disabled passenger for a wheelchair is in its second day.
Bob Ross, from Islington, London, won his case in January after being charged 18 to use a wheelchair at Stansted Airport, in Essex.
Ryanair claims the airport imposed the charge and owner BAA should accept its responsibility for disabled people |

Was thinking it was some kind of mistake, but yea can see how they could try to do a check in fee, but the airport is london - london luton.
Im going to test it, 20 for a night out with the gf is worth it, and where better than one of the nicest cities on earth dublin, maybe scotland next month there really nice too.
EDIT: Just tried to book, It gave it to me for 19.96, free check in & priority boarding (which doesnt mean anything at all, you still have to wait with everyone else)
How does an airline make money with people like me about?
Oh and on a eater related subject next time a lad asks for money to travel point them to ryan air lol "Free flights" that should leave them confused. [ this does not involve the third party rule, using services isnt causing the company problems ] |

They are ultimately a good airline for what they are, which is, well, uhm... you get what you pay for.
Though you never really expect to pay for buying the tickets, which is one of their charges they slip on at the very end...
But yeah... expect it to cost slightly more than you might think, and don't expect them to be helpful if anything goes wrong.
What's the current situation as regards the EEC passenger rights thingy? Are they still just blatantly ignoring it? |

I've flown Ryanair a lot over the years and they've been okay-ish. Flight attendants aren't particularly friendly and some hardly speak English and they always appear stressed. Channel 4 had a documentary about Ryanair FA's a year or so ago when one of their reporters worked undercover as a FA.
My relatives just flew Sterling (a Danish low cost airline, done charter for years and years and scheduled flights for some years now) to the UK and their initial flight was canceled but they were booked in a day earlier for no extra charge although the new flights were more expensive. Their outbound flight didn't have the full selection of food available (have been on Ryanair and they keep selling stuff 'til the bitter end) and gave away free food to all passengers including beer. Need I add the relatives were very happy?!
I guess Ryanair will avoid the EU passenger rights thingy until someone takes them to the European Court of Justice.
To avoid paying the credit/debit card fee use an Electron card. Yep, I know you need a crap/no interest account to get one of those cards but I keep one simply for when I have to book flights. Saves a good chuck of money! |

The real problem I've had in the past with Ryanair and other low cost carriers is that if something goes wrong with the plane, they can't just switch another one over easily to take the flight, especially if the airport is not at the home destination. They can't transfer you to the full service airline so the reality is you have to wait until they can manage to get another plane to get you home. Not nice with young kids! Still, we have had loads of cheap holidays with them, you take a risk but I am going to keep using them. |

Ive booked it for me & the gf, going out at stupid oclock *(6.30am)
cost 19.96 (air tax, tickets came to 0 with online check-in)
Normally if i go out for the night with her transport costs around 50 so as i can drive to the airport, and my friend take me car home im laughing, till something goes wrong lol - i have to wait till 5 days to do the online book-in so should see then how far i get lol. |

Booked Ryanair flights yesterday from Dublin to Norway.
Total cost of flights (including taxes): 24.98
Cost to check in one piece of luggage: 26
Now if you ask me, having the baggage handling fee more expensive than the actual flights seems like the sort of stunt a lad would try and pull.
An Irish travel writer, Paul Kilduff, has written a book called Ruinair - http://www.amazon.co.uk/Ruinair-Paul-Kilduff/dp/0717144348/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&s=books&qid=1209728971&sr=8-1 , on the front cover it says it only costs 0.01, but then there's some small print bringing it up to 12.99. |
