Well, I spent my first day today on Long Island, and what an adventure it was. Lots or rain, and when I got back to my hotel, the guy in the room next to mine was pissed off because one of the cleaners had stolen everything out of his room. Clothes, medication (he's a diabetic), everything. Excellent day! Laughing

Anyone know of any good pizza joints near Melville, NY? I'm dying to try some good New York pizza! Very Happy

Bloody Hell, who sent you on safari? Melville, L I, bit out of my field of experience. Though I can recommend the Uzbek restaurant on the eastern end of Brighton Beach. Where the overhead railway stops running directly over the road. It's on the north eastern side of the crossroads. It has tiled pictures of Samarkand on the walls.

I've never eaten pizza in NY. I have been thinking wistfully of the city recently, cos I may be heading back there later in the year, but you've brought me back down to earth, Stargate. I may not thank you for that, but my boss will if it means I concentrate better. Laughing

I would either ask a staff where you are staying or just any local on the street. Believe it or not, New Yorkers aren't that unfriendly (or maybe I've just been very lucky to not need much help navigating there).

Bertucci's is a chain restarant I have one a block away here from work. but they are very good i always get their ultament pizza. it rocks

That's the pizza capital of the world !!

There is a good place all the way down Broad Hollow rd. in Amityville, one or two blocks past the RR bridge on your left. Thin Crust.

I would also be surprised if you couldn't get some excellent slices in Farmingdale, on Conklin Ave.

ummmummmm .... Too bad I'm stuck in Atlanta, eating overcooked, shredded pork stuff.

I got to try Victor's Pizza Delight tonight. Pretty good. I wish I had gotten the deep dish. Much better than the Blackstone Steakhouse last night, I must say.
