The social networking/dating sites Profilelooker (http://www.profilelooker.com) and Blacklooker
(http://www.blacklooker.com) have attained notoriety as the place for scammers and perverts.
The new site owner is a completely decent man, determined to clean the sites up and to maintain them as a safe place to be. It is a huge job.
A couple of experienced people are needed to help do this. You need to know about all types of scams. You should also understand all about the Whois and DNS look up services.
The pay is truly appalling. The hours are unacceptable.
The sites use PhPFox (http://www.phpfox.com/guide/konsort/1_5_1/) for an insight to the workings. You need to be sympathetic to people of all races. We don't encourage anyone to bait, but the staff do have honey trap profiles that we use to see what dubious active members are after. It would be great to have someone who is Black, or Asian, but that isn't an issue.
The labour of love is open to anyone, and there are no job interviews. So if you wish to age before your time, and beat your head against a wall then PM me.

I'm GMT -7 and usually web active in the early morning(5 am) and evening, was active hunting a lost lad on a date forum as a female too, but got sick of the kind of talk a blond girl gets when entering an all black website Laughing

Whoever bought those sites must be totally clueless about scams and dating sites...imo

Once you boot the scammers and baiters there's not much left

I'm still not in favor of doing any advertising for those sites

They were built with fraudulent practices and with the help of massive numbers of fake profiles

That might be hard to prove, but as we hunt for our pray, others hunt for theirs. This is the internet, where nothing is real to begin with. I'll give it a try, snoop a bit and when I run over a lad or ad I might as well report it. Yes I'm doing his work for free, but then it's this or roaming Yourtube to waste the spare time Laughing

The author is an eater member that made me look twice. It looks like a dead site (blacklooker) so not much to do there. I'll see if I can enter the rest. Just an area I never looked into, so it's interesting for me anyway. Gives a whole new meaning to FAKE PROFILE, who in his/her right mind would expect to find a partner there anyway?

I have got to know the site owner who bought these and another site.He is a member here to learn about scams. Totally decent. The sites are far from dead. Blacklooker is very much alive. Whatever the past history the staff are on a total clean up mission. I am the owners deputy on these sites. As Bloodsucker, Admin999, and Ancient_Mariner. There is a hidden group in each site where we have free staff discussions on best approaches, and all the new tricks that come up. Also it enables Milagro and I to train the staff who are all very dedicated to doing this. Biglooker the owner is a programmer running other sites as well. So I am front of house /floor manager. New scammer arrivals are almost caught before they join. Since the sites have good IM and Chat rooms, there is zero tolerance to new members who mass mail suspiciously for the purpose of trawling for Yahoo contact off site. Older members who do so are reminded not to do so again or face a block/ban/ chill off etc. I expect the staff to adopt a robust attitude. The situation on all the sites has changed and scammers etc are a hunted and killed species. It's a big job.

I still think it's dumb to buy these domains and try to convert them to a 'safe' dating site. Rolling Eyes

I just happen to be the floor manager, and have a huge job on. The site requires some folks who know what they are doing, and who move in the right circles ( if that is not derogatory Smile

). To work for nothing and make a difference. There is no baiting going on in the site, and in fact I wouldn't allow it aside from running a catcher profile or two. Why not volunteer for the job mr fetchit. I am paid nothing. I just love being there and really hitting back at scammers in the most practical way. I'm not admin on scum riddled Myspace /Tagged etc, just on these sites. If adrain or Sharla are 419 e members profliles, they have been totally checked out and are apparently who they say they are . So I have no concerns about them at all. The only thing i would comment on is that the profile pic of Sharla is not real, it is the usual stolen pic, which rings some alarm bells. However that has not gone unnoticed and that profile is under observation by all the staff. Thank you Bill. You are found out!

There' no way to determine online the domain was transferred to new owners. (that I can find)

If there is a new owner, and he wants to clean it up, thats fine.

Resurrecting these messes still seems like a very stupid endeavour.

If he wanted to start social networking sites....why not start fresh, with domains that don't have the history these crap sites do?

No sense in beating a dead horse....

I live in UK and have almost daily contact with owner on phone to Dallas using skype and landline. Stepan, why should I as a baiter, and being there and getting into the place I am , be wasting my time answering what is pure junk from you. You are doing me and scam fighting a great dis-service. SB has given me a lot of time and support in getting my post right. So when I snatch a few minute here, and look for those who want to help, I find your responses a tad annoying. So why have you not decided to help, and more usefully use your very considerable experience?
It is not relevant if the owner wants to do this, these sites were part of a group he bought, and he could easily have deleted the lot. However he intends to use the data base to fight scammers. I love the sites. I love the members. And when you get into it, you have some of the nicest people that you could imagine and really get to know them.

Normally I don't work for free, but giving in to scammers is not my style and while wasting my time, I might as well do it useful. A cleaned up site or a new one will both have the same problems, so better learn to keep them outside then giving in and starting a new one every 6 months or sooner.

From a business standpoint, it doesn't make sense.

Keep up the hard work......don't expect any gratitude.

It is possible to keep most scammers out. It's not real conducive to making a profit with a dating site/social networking site.

I wish the new owner luck, seriously.

I have watched this develop and don't know what to think. The reward for this service seems pretty low so he has approached some baiters as they love this kind of thing and someone will no doubt do it for free... I do wonder what a site owner that earns money from these sites with a social responsibility to protect its members should pay... I wonder if he actually has a social responsibility...

Wazzup ^^^, nobody is forcing you to cooperate, you aren't asked to approve it, the mods did that and it doesn't keep you awake at night (I hope)

I don't care about his motives, profit range or political goals, I never really explored dating sites and it keeps me out of trouble while bored online.
I learn a bit and drop a few baits to see if it's real or just a scam. I have no problem with that, I don't feel obligated and if I can make one possible victim think twice then I did my good deed for the week. Wink

And I might find myself a new lad.

If you want to help, no problem, if you don't, still no problem, from this side it's still a free country, but useless nagging never did anyone any good (except maybe my wife Laughing

TENS OF THOUSANDS OF SCAMMERS ACTIVE ON THE SITES. Even if asleep they wake up sometimes and hunt victims. We are keeping them out and killing the ones that awake. But we don't bait on the site. We may have fake profiles and the limit is that we use the spare profile to get into the mind of a suspect we are not sure of.If it comes out as we suspect, they don't last long as our purpose is removal with no damage to site members and no further ability to recruit victims. Of course you can always take some work home if you wish to, but not on the site. The reason is that we have good African members and to try to do anything to them is not fair. And also there is no justification in allowing a scammer loose on the site to pursue other game when you are not looking. But believe me when you hit a syndicate, from one IP, that has thousands of active scammers in it- then you know you have destroyed an investment and infrastructure belonging to a criminal- and that costs them dear.And the signs are that they are getting angry. Well one thing I love most is an angry scumbag! So someone who can take off the baiting hat and take on the job of ruthless scum killing is what is needed. It is great when you catch one on line and can get a quick ban and delete in. You can watch them struggling to get back on the site. They try to login, or sign up, or hunt their own profile. Sometimes you can watch another guest with a different proxy IP following the effort. So that gets a quick ban and an IP browse in case it has a profile handy. A kill is not a kill until it is totally dead. Like some mythological beast it writhes around spawning new ones as you attack it, So come on lads and ladettes. A few of you are needed.

They're tick as fleas on a sick dog, two types, the onetime only, register, scan for possible victims and lure them over to a chat program to remove any control, sometimes it takes them only 20 minutes to find a suitable victim.
And the stealthy ones, member for years and carefully picking their victims while staying below the surface.
Not much for baiting, but very rewarding, spend four hours this morning and killed over a hundred while also meeting nice people online. Like hunting in a hen house Laughing

This guy is lethal on the site! He has come up with some good modus operandi. I knew some of the tricks but not all. Baiting has given him some sort of a tongue dealing with these people. He is great with the members. He works best with no staff profile at all. But he comes back with quality guidance all the time. Because we have little hidden place in the site to swap stuff. I have always had respect for the scammers. And coming into doing this reinforces this. Mr Bigscam has his idiots working for him and he is on the site too. I have watched new scammers being tracked by someone who does not sign in normally, and I have seen them being tracked by a mate. Mr Bs will have his site presence. And when you find it, believe me it is an exhausting trail. I have hit one and followed it for 2 days and got about 4 hours sleep! every time I got to the last one on the paperchase I was coming up with 75 more names ,or whatever figure. i ran into 1399 scammers in one syndicate on 1 IP.
Can I just add that this post was deleted by SB. It has been moved,rewritten by me, and supported by SB. As floor manager, I have a fantastic team.
I want some of the best on 419e TO COME AND HAVE A PARTY.
