Been stringing an ATM lad along for a couple of months now, but received this today from him.....

^^^ Apparently the mugus are becoming more and more suspicious of g-mail. I've had only limited success in getting replies lately to lottery scams, for example. Probablty only one lad in four picks up the bait.

Thats the problem. It's great to share and its fun to read, but if the lads bother to do a search, we are giving them plenty of clues on how to improve their scams.

^^^ Actually, I don't think he posted anything damaging. I'm careful when posting to mask the lad's name because I could see him doing a search for that. I don't always mask my characters' names because I give them common names that would produce so many hits if googled that it's doubtful the mugu would find this place. I don't see how anything the poster posted above would help his lad find this forum if he doesn't already know about it.

But undoubtedly there are some lads who do know about our sites and check them. It's a mixed blessing. Yes, they are educated if they find us but they also see how we are humiliating them.

BTW -- I assume fastmail also removes the user's IP address?

I'm sorry but I just cannot see how this is educating the lad, I have never once mentioned 419eater to him (in fact the reply I sent to the above message was an attempt to play dumb) This is the first post I have ever posted about this guy so his claim that he saw me on here is rubbish quite frankly. Also I have never posted his name or aliases (masked or unmasked) so I don't see how searching the forums would benefit him any. At most he is going to get my baiter name, but as you will see by the mail he sent he is already aware (at least in his mind) that I am a baiter so it matters not to me whether he knows my name or not.

Maybe I'm missing the point, perhaps someone could clarify for me exactly what I have done there to educate the lad?

No one mentions the possibility that you sent replies so ludicrous that he was tipped off that you were a joker from the start, which caused him to do a little searching. Whether he found you here or not he may know about eater or one of the other baiting sites already and just put the two together.

Clever baiting removes this problem.

I doubt a lad will spend his expensive time running searches on key phrases trying to find a joker.

What he posted is fine. Not all lads read this forum. If he had posted an unmasked name, that would be a slight concern. His lad is too busy scamming to hunt down a "joker." Very Happy

I'm sorry, I should have read this sooner.
I was just trying to warn people that posting in an open forum can cause trouble and an angry lad with an idea of revenge and baiters might get smart.
They also learn by the way we bait them and some secure services of this forum are just a flag to them that they are being fooled with. You might have run in to one of the former baited lads that remembers a case going sour before.
What ever I wrote to bug you, it wasn't meant personally, I'm sorry.

Names that are posted in Main Scambaiting should be masked so that the search engines don't pick them up; however, the mask function should be used sparingly. Baits such as baiter_boi's bait can be posted in Main, just be sure to disguise names. Even if baits are posted in other forums that require a login, once a lad registers as a member, he still has access to them.

Just be creative. Very Happy
