Anybody have a clue what the hell this is-it arrived in an account I use solely for baiting-not a a catcher account.

I could be wrong, but it looks like a spammer is testing a new relay server that they have found, and you are on that spam list.

I see quite a few of these just before a fresh bit of spam comes through our email server.

Thanks,I was curious.My first thought was some form of 419,but it didn't ask for anything.It makes sense,they were looking for someone to click on a link,and confirm an active addy possibly.thanks again

Actually what they were looking for is verification that they could bounce spam through that server. Not you specifically.

They do this when they find an open relay on the internet in order to verify it will forward their spam to their victims.

@vaultdweller-that I understood.I was just trying to find the angle.Trust me-if they ever capture that........individual,I will be standing in line to buy a drink for anyone who ever wore the uniform.

This is probably a virus. Virus spreaders use sensational subjects to get you to open the mail
(and possibly click on some attachment). Probably it is a virus that will subvert your
computer into a spam zombie.

Adelphia is not a freebie account like Gmail or Yahoo, that's someone's home computer hooked up to the cable company. Adelphia provides cable and internet here in the US.

In the same line as "WTF is this"...I have a lad baited from two different (was three) characters. When the S3cur3 MT-sea-N thing got to be too much he abruptly loses interest in the original scam and wants me to "create a panel" at cc.3arthlink.c0m. I checked out the link he sends, it is lagit and sells webspace. One of my characters reported back to him that it was done (not). He demanded the domain name created and the password.

Anyway, just wundering if anyone else had this strange request for you to build a lad a website???
