no replies to my replies

i have replied to over 100 spam emails. most never go past my initial reply. on a rare occasion they will reply once and are never heard from again.

i have only had 5 that have actually gone on longer than 10 emails.

is my deodorant not working?

In your replies, sound very anxious but also sound dumb. If they think you are naive they will get right back to you. Don't try to do anything too humorous in your first reply. Play it straight. Once he's hooked you can jerk his chain.

@BR, my intital replies are more or less "Thank you for your email. I am very interested in hearing more details". never more than 2 or 3 sentences.

I hardly ever have a problem, first response is always there, but I use common names

It's got to be a string of bad luck for ya. I get replies with "Sounds good" and when they ask for info, "Will send."

Is your character's name too obvious? Maybe that is turning them away.

If you've replied to 100 emails and had virtually no replies, you're doing something drastically wrong, somewhere, somehow.

In my whole baiting career I've replied to somewhat less than 100 initial emails and recieved about the same number of replies.

I can't see what you're doing wrong without more to go on, but here's some food for thought...
Are you baiting straight? Normal name? Normal initial reply? Where do you get your spam emails from? Are they freshly recieved? Or old emails that may have been closed down by now?
There's a couple of ideas... but as I say without more knowledge it's hard to tell.

This is one of those occasions where a mentor could have helped a great deal.

I used to get no replies, either. Then, either I got better at baiting, or my luck changed.

most of my spam mails come into Jacks account as spam.

i have a mentor who has helped me immensly..

You don't say what type of mugus you are baiting. You need to tailor your replies according to the to the type of bait. No doubt your mentor will advise you on that front.

Lads need to be wooed initially. Act compliant to start (much as it may gall you) and once they have invested some internet time in you hit them where it hurts.

Baiting isn't an exact science. It's a learning curve. You learn by your mistakes, a bit like real life if you still have one after spending too much time on here. Very Happy

[Edited to add] Lads don't really get western names so don't fret about that. I have a collection of fake cheques made out to people you wouldn't believe. They do.

Are you replying to any old spam, or specifically scammers? Regular spam is usually sent by automated bots which wont even get your emails.

Actually, I find the best source of baiting material is the surplus scam letters from these forums. Also, stick to straight character names for the best results. I tend to use historical figures that an African wouldn't know:

Wiling and dumb is what you need to do to get them on the hook. Once they can smell the MTCN then you can have fun.

DOH that makes sense. i have been replying to the interesting looking spam that hits my junk mail box. i guess if it's a bot, that would explain the no replies.. banghead

perhaps i was unclear as to what i was sending replies to. some came from the surplus, others in my junk/spam folder.

the ones i was replying to are similar to the ones in the surplus letters. dead relatives, money scams, atm cards, lotteries, etc. thus my confusion.

i did as was suggested in one of the stickies for newbies "post on guestbooks" and wait.

the guy wanting to sell me viagra wasn't very productive Wink
