My own son was almost scammed!

Typical puppy scam. My 20-something son really wants a bulldog, and it seemed really nice that he could get a puppy just by paying the shipping. He copped to the scam before too long, but not before they got his work email, his phone numbers, employer's name, and I don't know what else.

He's a little tired of getting 100 emails a day from "the lady that says her son just went to school and can't take the dog with him" and the shipping company.

So guys and gals, if you want to get personal about some baiting, you might consider dropping a line to the poor mother at

From the headers, everything was sent from Cameroon.

I'm offended! Don't they know who I am?????

Glad your son realized and didn't go any farther. I like your goat. Maybe they want some goats too. They are easier than dogs and you don't have to clean up after them like dogs. Wink

The world over, there are many many truly wonderful dogs getting put down for the lack of good homes, perhaps take your son to the local dogs home just for a look around? Even with his heart set on a particular make and age of dog, he may be surprised what amazing dogs end up desperate to be rehomed. I know I can't go into those places without wanting to bring dozens home.

Just a thought.

I had the same experience as OD--same immediate response, same challenging text exactly. I think I saw the reference on the website of The Bulldog Club of America that has public and private listings of bulldogs that need rescue. But I'm not sure, since I've been looking around for a bulldog puppy for a long time now, like at least 15 minutes Smile

I just said that a friend of a friend passed the info on by the time it got to me. I then moved on to questions a real person would ask so I'll see if they let it go.
