I had someone write me recently on IM with the usual "my father has millions of dollars of gold in a foreign holding company", blah blah blah. Although I did string her a long a little bit by asking her a bunch of personal questions rather than sticking to the topic she wanted, I wouldn't have tried to bait her in earnest because it was my actual IM with my real name attached to it (I was also unfamiliar with the concept of scambaiting until I looked it up following this experience). Has anyone had much luck in baiting IM scammers. I've never done scambaiting before and IM sounds like a tough way to start because you don't have as much time to think.

Lots of laddies use yahoo IM. Its really obnoxious how they keep BUZZing every few second if you take too long to answer them. Most of the ones I talked to, claimed to be a stranded American stuck in a Nigerian hotel.

You should take a look in the romance section of the forum if you want to see people baiting lads via IM.
