With ID fraud on the rise, the assumption is you'll lose money which can be claimed back. But Simon Bunce lost his job, and his father cut off contact, when he was arrested after an ID fraudster used his credit card details on a child porn website.

if something like this happens to you or someone who you love what would you do ? sue the pants off your previous employer, the police and the newspapers who published this story for enough pounds that your grandchildren would be able to live lavishly without moving a finger ?

what options does a man in this condition have ? how does he get compensated for everything that he has lost ?

The programme also featured snail mail 419 lottery scammers that paid for thousands and thousands of prepaid envelopes using, surprise surprise, stolen credit cards. The two main perpetrators turned out to be of western African origin. Can you guess where from?

I watched it on TV last night too.
An interesting program.
If I ever meet that Christopher Buckingham guy, he's due a punch in the face. Not that I am ever likely to meet him. But just so you know.

It was a good program, and yes I too wondered how you put your life back together after that has happened. Poo sticks. I don't think he has any recourse against the police, who were acting on good evidence - although one might have hoped they would have picked up on the IP address being in a different continent.

Re Chris Buckingham, I agree there too. He obviously has a mental condition making him totally un-empathic.

Sorry sheboppe, but I thought General was for non-419 scambaiting chatty stuff. As the programme had some 419 and other fraud related content I thought it might be more suitable in the Main. I suggested this to the OP in a PM and also suggested they changed the title to reflect that fact.
