Cote D Ivoire or bust
A 419Eater Safari Challenge.
As you may have already read in this thread, 419Eater will be sponsoring a series of baiting contests. Some will be quick trophy challenges; others will require an entire published bait. Since there are many types of baiters, there will be many types of contests. This one is a safari challenge.
The challenge is pretty simple. Get a lad to travel from Nigeria to Cote D Ivoire.
The Rules:
1. Your lad must start out in Nigeria. IP verification is required. 2. Your lad must end up in Cote D Ivoire. Again, IP verification is required. 3. The lad that emails from Cote D Ivoire must be the same lad that emailed from Nigeria. Do whatever you have to for proof. Lads have friends all over the place. We want to make sure that this is not a case of a friend emailing you, pretending to be your lad. 4. You have until May 31st for you lad to arrive. 5. The baiter to get their lad to take this safari in the most entertaining way will win. This is not a race. You may get your lad there first, but that does not automatically make you the winner. Your bait MUST be the most entertaining one to win. 6. This does not have to be a fresh lad. It can be one that youve had for years or someone that you pulled out of Surplus Letters yesterday. 7. You must publish the key emails in the PUBLISH YOUR WORK HERE! section of the forum. Entitle your thread like this: Safari Challenge {baiter name}. This will make it easier for our top secret panel of judges to keep things straight. 8. The secret panel of judges will have total and final say as to whether or not the lad actually safaried. 9. The secret panel of judges will also be the ones who decide which safari baits are the most entertaining.
Post important updates in this thread if you like. This will be the one that everyone is watching. |

I think this is a great challenge. I am really interested in seeing a bunch of lads going on these safaris. This is a great idea. I have too many baits going on at the moment, otherwise I'd enter. Good luck to all! |

Are we allowed to co-bait for this? I'm now realizing how limited my free time is due to the other baits I'm focused on, but I would like to take part. |

@prof - - so get a mentee - and walk him/her through it. I just sent off emails to about 20,000 lads. I gave my mentee another list of lads. So with so many lads to choose from - SOMEONE must bite. The more the merrier. I'd like to send them all on a vacation. |

YES. You can co-bait and enter your bait as a team. |

This sounds fun. Never baited before, but if I get a chance, I may try this. Good practice, at least.
Anways, how do I get IP confirmation through email? Sorry, it's a nooby question. But that is what I am...a noob. |

@HeavyWater. It depends on which email program you are using. You will "push a different button" to read the headers. Then you take this special number that you get from the headers and go to http://www.dnsstuff.com and type it in a field on the bottom of that page - and it traces it for you. I realize this is a vague answer, but since I don't know what email you are using, I can't be more specific.
Welcome to eater and happy baiting. |

I am using a Gmail account. If I need to, I can easily just make a new account with a different service if it is easier to get the location that way. Thanks for the welcome. |

Keep your gmail account. To see the headers, look at the upper right of the page. Look for a pull down list. In the list, look for "Show Original". That will show you the complete message WITH the header. |

Easiest way: http://www.ip2location.com/emailtracer.aspx
Or when viewing the header the originating IP is usually the first one you see going from the bottom to the top of the header. Again just use ip2location.com to track it. |
