I thought as an E-bay seller I had seen all the Scams that were out there. Unfortunately this is not the case.

I was selling a laptop computer on E-bay a few months ago and was very happy when the price went $100 above what I wanted for it as the auction ended. That was the last time I was happy.

First I got an e-mail from e-bay that told me that the person who won the auction did not authorize that bid and that the auction was cancelled due to fraudenlent activity on the bidders account. I kept thinking that was strange who does a scammer get money by doing that. So I relisted the laptop and sold it. About a week goes by and I get an e-mail from someone claiming to be e-bay.

Basically the gist of the e-mail was that. The fraud had been taking care of and that I was able to IMMEDIATELY ship out the laptop and as soon as they recieved a tracking number for the laptop they would release funds to my account.

I had to laugh because it was a good attempt and would probably fool a lot of people. I wish I had saved the e-mails they make good reading.

So go ahead and give them a tracking number.

From Billy Bob's Shipping Service And Car Wash. Oops, they don't have a website to check this online. However, you can call their customer support line and check the status. After a 3 hour wait on long distance....
