My newest baiter persona, ("Call me Cammy!"), received this pledge from her most recent Lad:

This could be a sign of our success. See, the lads are so fed up with having to travel all over the place, fill out forms, join churches and set their asses on fire just for a measly WU transfer that they're now willing to just scam themselves and let us watch!

All hail the mighty and rightful victors! I say we throw a huge celebration, drink until we're all good-looking, hire a few live bands, get a big buffet going, and sacrifice a few goats. I'm packing my chicken suit, some gasoline, and 2 kegs right now! This is so cool I have to go to the bathroom.

On the slight chance that your lad simply made a typo, well then I guess you'll just have to hold that against him and make him pay for it dearly. If that's the case, just let me know. I'll be easy to find - just look for a drunk, skinny glam-chicken running around with a flaming goat on a plunger.

Of course they will... most likely by sending you a cheque. Wink

I've seen this happen before, usually with victims who are broke. The nice lads offer to pay all expenses, then send a nice fakey cheque for the vic to cash.

SF, you may be right, but this promise was in the second email... we haven't even got close to discussing finance!

I'll update this if anything changes; but I'm surprised that a Lad would do that in the first place.

Another trick they play is to absorb all the initial "fees" and just churn out paper. Then they say that they have run out of money themselves, mortgaged their home, sold the car, put their daughter on the street etc, and there is just this one last fee to pay. You must pay it because if you don't he will be destitute.

Or he might just play the "this is not a fee, this is a xxxxx" game.
