Then you are not baiting, you are just letting off steam. You can do that without sending funds (silly) and giving out a live MTCN and possibly exposing yourself to a criminal.

One of the "jobs" of baiters is to waste scammers time and resources so they are not hitting innocent victims.

You are free to do what you want. What you are talking about is not what members of Eater do (as has been said in this hijacked thread over and over).

You are the master of your baits. Do what floats your boat. Don't try to get other people to join your plan, especially when there is the wisdom of 1000s of baits on this site.

I am thinking you haven't done much reading here, and you won't stay around long.

Good point! but they could still do something.
For example why dont WU and MG put up posters or have leaflets in their offices to educate customers on 419 activities and what to look out for.
I probably should have mentioned this before as it is far less drastic and doesnt involve getting honest people the sack, because a simple thing like that would undoubtedly save a lot of victims.

The WU I checked a while ago does warn about lotto lads. Their send form also contains this: "Are you sending money to buy goods over the internet or to facilitate a lottery or sweepstake win ? [ _] YES [ _] NO If yes, read the instructions carefully ! You take a large risk!"

I understand you are being "devil's advocate" but my point in encouaging them to yell at the WU agent is not to get them to change things. My goal is that they create a scene and the agent calls the police on the mugu. As I said, most lads just ignore my advice to yell at the agent. Some do. But if you have been taken in by a scammer, are you going to take any notice?

What we should do is ban the use of hard currency and electronic transfers on a global scale and introduce a face-to-face bartering system. That way everyone can still have access to the necessities of life and the scammers would not be able to scam. This would dovetail quite nicely with a face-to-face battering system to deal with proven scammers.

@ParaNoid, I did this prior to signing up on the site, it was my initial reaction. I haven't sent them the payment information, but as an aside the name on the MG was fake from me.

In regards to MG, I don't really think of them as an ITP personally, they never asked for ID, and they were happy to take my money anyway (9.99).

I don't plan on sending money in the future, and haven't decided what to do about this 2 cents. But darn, it would make me feel good, knowing someone went down to MG all excited they are gonna collect on a 1,000 check to find it translates to 1 pence.

I looked into sending lads pennies back when I first joined and somebody else asked- the prices were a bit nuts.

That would make a good plot for an action movie. The "transaction" turns out to be the thorough battering of a mugu who showed up looking for his payment.

I have watched this thread with bemusement. Western Union and Moneygram operate legally, whether we like it or not. They do not fall into the category of innocent third parties. They are not obliged to be de facto baiters. Any baiter who thinks they do should take up tiddlywinks.
Or do what many of us do. Frustrate lads with false documents, and try to obtain bank accounts from them for reporting and possible closure.
If every baiter tried these tactics, WU and MG would suffer.
