On the 28th of February I got an email from a Mr. Sheikh F@hdi claiming that I had been chosen to donate 18 million dollars to charity because he had cancer and was gonna die. Note that I smelled a rat the first damn second, but the bastard played me for my generosity and kindness. For my noble effort, I keep 10% of the money in question. I was retarded enough to give the lad my REAL name, address, and cell phone no. The deal was gonna be golden for the scammer if I hadn't googled the name. I switched to angry black man mode and told the lad to go fuck a donkey. I have been spamming the address ever since with no response.
THAT was how I found out about this site. I would love to bait, but would probably mess up big time. So... Could someone please bait him for me? I'd love to see him suffer. The address is xxxxx@[email protected]
Replace @ with a. Replace 0 with "o"
Mod edit - email address removed, please supply the scam email including the full headers, that came from that email address - SP |

JFreeloader.
Somewhere on the page that you got that email from is something that will say "show full header" or "full header" or something similar- on yahoo it is in the bottom right corner below the email. It may be somewhere else on other email providers.
Click on it-it will then open a load of computer geek stuff above the email.
Copy and paste that geek stuff and edit your post above this to include the new information. |

Welcome John.
While we cannot guarantee results, certainly there are those who will bait him and make him at least a little miserable.
If you're interested in doing more, apply for a mentor and read that PM you received when you first signed up.
Have fun. |

You can request a mentor here:
http://forum.419eater.com/forum/viewtopic.php?t=122306
Then just read the stickies in the "Help hints and tips" forum until your request is met.

That's the basic idea of scammers. People fall for it often. For whatever reason. Money, love, fear .. you name it. Not a few, but a couple of billions $$ worth each year... All kinds of victims .. Are you sure your next of kin isn't involved with a scumbag like this? |

@whytie, there are many reasons that people fall for scams - too numerous for me to list here, but greed and naivety are two of the top ten. Scammers know exactly how to psychologically work their victims, and they know what buttons to push. |

How did you manage to nearly fall for this? |
Its the law of large numbers. Statistically speaking, even very rare events are likely to occur if you have a large enough sample. In other words, they just keep sending out emails until someone, for whatever reason, responds to their messages. |

If there were nobody falling for these scams the scammers would soon stop wasting their time.
The fact that somebody has been scammed does not automatically suggest they are greedy, stupid, naive or anything else you may wish to call them.
As suggested already thousands of these emails will go out, of those emails they may only get 1% reply, of that 1% half may go for a week or so before realising, half again may go a few weeeks.
Unfortunately there are still some people left who do not twig that it's a scam and start to pay money.
Once the first fee is paid the chance of getting a second fee increases as the vic starts to throw good money after bad.
Often the vic will never realise, they can become so believing of their scammer and often thank them for their help.
Eventually a vic will either run out of money or realise that the big pay day isn't coming.
Thats when the recovery scam comes in to clean up anything left.
Scam victims can be doctors, lawyers, engineers or the unemployed, trying to stereotype victims would be much the same as sterotyping a gay person, sometimes they will believe the scam completely, regardless of how much media attention these scams get |

I do believe the OP specifically stated that he almost fell for it because he thought he was really helping a charity. That is a very noble idea, not greedy or otherwise "criminal." Part of the reason that scams are still around, is because the people who *do* fall for them are often afraid to speak out - and the rest of society blames them for being a victim. |

Its funny after how F@hdi never tried to reassure me of it not being a scam after I (under my real name) got suspiscious and told him off (I wasn't THAT rude to him). You'd think the mugu would try his hardest to chop the dollar eh? BTW. I lol @ all the letters and baits on here. |
