Doing some safari research of the Parakou area in Benin, I came across these photos.
I don't need to say anymore, the photos speak for themselves...

Those are great. That first and second picture are the best. That second one looks like he is on his way to building a TWAT pyramid. |

How in the world did they ever convince a cow to stay seated in the back of a hatchback? |

I wanna know how they got the cow in there in the first place!!!
They do love their Peugeot's though-i recall reading somewhere a few years ago that there was a spate of thefts of 505's in England and France purely to ship them to W.Africa. |

Fantastic photos Simba.
I am just wondering as the others are. How many people does it take to put a cow in the back of a car |

just one, walk him in through the side door and he'll crawl in there with help, they hate to step down that far though and getting him out of there isn't easy unless you can back it up to a ramp like thing. You can walk a cow up the stairs, but you'll have to slaughter him or use a crane to get her down
Edit:
Great pictures Simba, already working on a plot to use them |

I'll bet those chickens are liking the ride, being tied together by their feet.
I'm sure it took awhile to load all them up! |

Looks like the poor bloody thing hasn't got overhead space to get on its legs, to allow it to hop out. I'd really like to know how they got it into the vehicle backwards. Probably through the front window. |

Actually, it looks like the cow is kind of enjoying the drive. |

Convince a cow to stay seated? There are two lads in that costume. Am I the ONLY one that spotted the zipper??
I wonder what party they're trying to crash. |

Wonderful photos!
Those 505's certainly take a lot of punishment.
I have a photo I took in North Africa somewhere showing a bunch of camels in the back of a pickup. Vehicles certainly have a hard life out there, but the skills of the mechanics are awesome when you think about it. Most of them are equipped with little more that some old bits of junk and scrap metal and a big hammer to fashion a similar part! |

I have been told the roads are really bad in this part of the world and travel by road can be a slow process. I think you will find that this particular cow was only a small calf at the start of the trip. |

A colleague has just pointed something out to me that I hadn't noticed before.
In the blue car Z 2140, the one above the photo of the chickens on the roof, see if you can count how many heads can been seen through the rear window.... |
